Commander / EDH

Adirael

That's right! Get yer' yamaka, slap it on your forehead. Getcher' straight vodka, drink it, drink it all up. Yeeha boy! Tonight, we summon the dragon.

"The timeless, tireless jaws of nature shall one day devour us all."

Sildark, artificer of Omu

Nightfall

By Blind Guardian

As a boy, he thought himself superior, by nature. He grew to yearn to prove this inevitability, all the while resenting any challenge. He was as a young demigod, unsatisfied with his lot among the mortals. His arrogance fed itself, only if wounded to further grow and callus. He was indeed cold, callous, yet friendly on the surface. He had to fill the room with inspiration, vigor! Such, a tad spiteful though he was, was his duty - to himself. There was much he owed himself. Isolated in the crowd, he was his only mentally challenging opponent, his own best friend & cruelest enemy.

Unto himself, he attempted to divine what reason he had for remaining on such a peculiar plane. Once upon a time it was whole, then split for a time, now whole again. The people here were sporting. The combat, although brutal kept him feeling young. Actually, at times he found himself at the defeated end of the blade. There was something sweet about finding peers - on some level anyways. No one he sparred with was his match mentally. None of them could even read the thoughts of others. Nevertheless they knew how to move. Time grows taxing on the soul of one who traverses the multiverse alone. The whole place is rather small when you get down to it. The problem is the massive crowd - not the size of it, but the reminder, that he had been at this alone for... he wasn't sure anymore. He thought, if he could form some bonds here, with the... lesser beings, he might find some sense of purpose in a world of causation. He didn't believe in some true calling, but found himself evermore eager to engage in the mundane. The surrealistic clashing of leylines on this particular plane made him feel at home, in that this world was like a simulation of the rest of the multiverse all coming together on a sort of micro-scale. Doing boring things is somehow relative to one who is found bored always anyways. Except... one thing, had captured his fascination. Or more, his mind was now tethered until further notice.

High above the gleaming knights playing hero, was this sort of warden or safe keeper. No one had seen this ancient dragon, until but a few cycles before his own arrival. Yes, normally when over-armored soldiers ride off, it's to die in vain to some mindless dragon, with might to spare - not except sigils for said valor! This dragon, well... it was not without might, and might have been the very largest dragon he had ever seen. Might to spare, oh yes! He had seen dragons that made other dragons look like those tiny gecko things you find in damp places with the other little clammy creatures & you know, the insects. This dragons, made those dragons look like the very same tiny geckos. The size of him was absurd. His mind matched, naturally. The walker admired this dragon, seeing himself in him. He detested his own admiration, fearing it would corrupt his ability to remain as perfectly - well, he was no god, but everyone is a legend in their own mind. Still, of this dragon he was in awe. One last detail. Arcades Sabboth was... courteous, with all ethical logos to dictate proper etiquette, and why strength was so important in maintaining sensibility to back it up. He knew why he was here; he, with mead in hand, would conquer the dragon.
