Awesome Deck! The thing is, I'm 15, So I'm still in high school, and I'm usually forced to build on an EXTREME budget, so I just wanted to know: Would you happen to have any recommendations for how to make a really good deck like this, but without all those really overly-expensive cards like Watery Grave ? +1!

A lot of these cards aren't that expensive lol Phyrexian Obliterator and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth are my more expensive cards.

Just buy cards and trade up, that's what I've had to do

P.S.: I recommend adding (at least) 5 more lands, so that you get a better flow of mana, because with this deck, sometimes you can't play down your good stuff as constantly as you'd want to (Example: Defiler of Souls on turn 9, because you didn't get enough lands/mana cost reducers until then).

In the "Rooftop Storm +Diregraf Captain +Gravecrawler +Grimgrin, Corpse-Born =Infinite loss of life and infinite counters on Grimgrin" combo, you don't need Gravecrawler , you can just use your commander instead, because he's got zombie as part of his creature type.

Commander tax, I think it still applies. Grave crawler is good on his own as well

Commander tax or not, Rooftop Storm says you may pay 0 rather than the mana cost. Since the "tax" is technically part of the casting cost (or in this wording, mana cost) of the card, should work fine, yeah? Though it's not nearly as impressive as utilizing Gravecrawler instead.

Nevermind the facts like "Grimmy states 'Another Creature'" and you'd have to waste your other sac cards on him to do the trick" or "Oh, and no counters for Grimmy." =(

Thank you for clearing that up marz1342, some people at my local game place were telling me that the tax applied when I went to play my commander from the command zone.

@dethjakal -- So, don't hate me; I was wrong. According to Epoch and the rules, the costs of commanders are (CMC + 2c), where c is the number of times the Commander has been cast from the Command Zone.

In short, Rooftop Storm does not cover the additional cost to cast from the Command Zone. So, he would cost 2 the second cast, 4 the third, 6 for the fourth and so on. Sorry again!

Ah, that's quite interesting. That makes Thraximundar not really a viable candidate for the whole sac and replay thing unless I have a way to pull him out of the yard.

Really sick deck! Thraximundar is an awesome commander. Any suggestions that I would make would be from my thrax deck: Thraximundar - Artist of Demise so you can take a look and see if you get some cool ideas. Mine is more of a combo deck so our decks run very differently but we both still share the grixis shell.
