Thrasios & Tymna Doomhulk 6 COMBOS IN ONE EDH Deck

Commander / EDH GWUB

My attempt at brewing 6 Combos in one EDH deck (With as little jank as possible) w/ the formidable Thrasios & Tymna at the helm! I like to think of this deck as a goosebumps choose your own victory path book as there are so many different ways you can go with your starting 7 in order to win. Most games won't ever lead you down the same path of victory so you will probably need a lot of playtesting with the deck in order to know what the right moves are.

COMBOS:

  1. Protean Hulk + Flash = Cephalid Illusionist, Nomads en-Kor, Hapless Researcher, Grand Abolisher, and Dryad Arbor to the battlefield. From here, you can loop Cephalid Illusionist and Nomads en-Kor to mill your library. Dread Return/Reanimate Lab. Maniac to the field.
  2. Mikaeus + Triskellion = Unlimited Damage they also both come out with Protean Hulk
  3. Hermit Druid = Draw Deck with no basics + Reanimate Lab. Maniac (Sac creatures to dread return flashback or reanimate)
  4. Ad Nauseam + Angel's Grace = Draw Deck and play Lab. Maniac
  5. Bomberman = Infinite Mana. LED + Auriok Salvagers. Use Thrasios (Commander) to scry and draw your whole deck.
  6. Doomsday Piles = Draw deck down to 5 cards and Win with Lab Maniac using the 5 cards you choose and the hand you have. Some pile ideas from top to bottom:

6a. Gush or Night's Whisper (depending on mana colors you have access too) Flash, Protean Hulk, Laboratory Maniac, Hapless Researcher.

(This stack is pretty self explanatory on what we are trying to do to win just flash hulk combo into maniac and researcher and sac the searcher to win)

6b. Gush(required for this stack), Gitaxian Probe, LED, Yawgmoth's Will, Laboratory Maniac.

Staring with 5 mana resources w/ at least 2 of them being islands is required for this stack to work. You don't need an opener spell in your hand to play out this combo although it could enable you to crack the pile on the same turn you play doomsday say like preordain and draw gush and do the combo slightly differently. (This version of the combo isn't explained here though)

(With this combo you draw gush on your next turn, then you tap the two islands you have say underground sea and a tundra you played from your hand this turn (our other mana sources being say urborg, bayou, and a mox) and you float two blue mana. Then return the two islands you have to your hand and play gush drawing Git probe and LED. Play LED on the field. -2 Life to draw with git probe and get yawgmoth's will in our hand. Then we use the 3 mana we have in play and cast yawgmoth's will, but in response so we don't exile our LED we crack LED creating 3 blue mana adding to the 2 we already have from gush making 5. LED goes to the yard and yawgmoth's will resolves. Then we return LED and create 3 more blue mana making a grand total of 8 in our pool and we exile it to will. We then -2 and play git probe again from the yard exiling it and drawing lab maniac. We then use 3 of the 8 mana we have and play lab maniac. We get to finally finish off the awesome combo by using the final 5 blue we have and playing gush again to win with maniac).

6c. Preordain (or some opener draw spell from hand to crack the pile), Brainstorm, Night's Whisper, Ponder, Gitaxian Probe, Laboratory Maniac

(Pretty Much a heavy blue mana required pile that needs an opener and we cycle through the last part of our deck until we can play maniac and end it with a probe)

6d. If you want countermagic, here is the way to go. Peak Efficiency Lands is 5 lands (2 islands for gush, 3 to untap with frantic search). This is geared more towards midgame play for protection or for players with countermagic.

Top to Bottom: Gush, Pact of Negation, Frantic Search, Gitaxian Probe, Laboratory Maniac

(You can also substitute Pull from Eternity in from maybe board if you are afraid of lab maniac getting exiled. Pile from top to bottom: Gush, Lion's Eye Diamond (LED), Night's Whisper, Yawgmoth's Will, and Pull from Eternity.)

Some of these piles require islands to work ( To proc gush or enable the blue spells you need to crack through the pile) so you may need to hold back doomsday a turn or two and not cast it on turn 3 curve. It all really depends on what's in your hand. Carpet of flowers and mana rock/dork ramp that produce blue and rituals can really help our cause a lot here too.

Here's another fun little thing we can do if we happen to start the game with doomsday, dark ritual, a island/swamp or a way to fetch, and another land that says island. With this we can enable a turn 2 victory this way.

Turn 1: Play swamp/island or fetch for swamp/island use black to cast dark ritual and play doomsday creating this pile from top to bottom. Careful Study, Mana Crypt, Gush, Gitaxian Probe/Street Wraith if you want to add it from the maybeboard, Laboratory Maniac.

Turn 2: Draw Careful study and play second island. Add 2 blue to your pool. Use 1 to cast careful study drawing crypt and gush and discard 2 of your other opening cards. Play Mana Crypt. Float a blue mana and play gush for its alterante cost returning two islands and drawing probe and maniac. Tap Crypt for 2 uncolored and the blue in the pool and cast maniac. Now -2 life and cast Gitaxian probe for the win!

Maybeboard includes substitutions if you prefer storm package with aetherflux reservoir. Be careful though with ad nauseam.

Any input would be appreciated as this deck is strictly just a brew at this point, but seems to have infinite potential.
