Third FNM Test —Nov. 10, 2017

Another night of intense fights, but ended with a record of only 2-2 again unfortunately.

2-0 Ramunap Red: R1 was going south for a while, with myself having only enough creatures to block and enough removal to survive. Down to the wire, about to be attacked and would lose. He swings with a full board, Khenras, Crasher, and Couriers, only to be met with a devastating Settle the Wreckage. Don't think I Mindcensored it though, but it still won me the game as I played my topdecked Glorybringer next turn. R2 was a blowout once I got Authority of the Consuls on the field.

0-2 Black Aggro: This one was a bitter defeat. R1 went for quite a while, back and forth as I cast something, he removed it, he cast something, I removed it. Unfortunately I ran out of removal steam and his board state swelled. If at any point I drew one of my Fumigates, I would have undoubtedly won R1, but alas I did not and was swarmed. R2 was simply a screw, only drawing red cards but not having a Mountain until my last turn where I only had 2 other lands anyway.

2-0 G/W Stompy: This one was also a fairly quick game. Pretty tense R1, with him having some significant double strikers that were getting stronger, but nothing Settle the Wreckage or Cast Out couldn't top. R2 he got mana screwed by not getting white sources, but by the time he did I was able to Aven Mindcensor combo him with Field of Ruin. Feels bad man.

0-2 RW Sunbird's Approach: This was a wacky homebrew by one of my LGS's top players. Quite the combo deck that relied on casting Sunbird's Invocation with just about anything. Tons of removal, a few Planeswalkers, and Approach of the Second Sun were the main pieces to the deck, but I could never go fast enough to beat it before it really started.
