This is quite... Bazaar!

DyingHavoc

Legacy

Score: 5

Description

Help me develop this deck for my 16th Birthday! :D

So this deck has a bunch of combos using Bazaar Trader .

Give opponents Abyssal Persecutor to stall while you try to pull off other combos. Such as:

I can simply steal their creatures using Act of Treason and Bazaar Trader .

You can use Bone Splinters with Bloodghast to kill opponents creatures and just get them back the very next turn.

These simple combos are simply amazing and fun to use. Suggestions, comments, and scores are always appreciated. Also a better sideboard would be appreciated I just kind of through in other things that can help.

Updates

— Sept. 1, 2012

Took out Bajuka Bog and Immortal Coil due to speed issues. Replaced Immortal Coil with Lightning Greaves .

Also I replaced Bloodghast with Reassembling Skeleton for chump blocking and it offers the same effect late game.

First, if you were planning on using Dark Ritual in modern, think again. It's not legal. Two, how do you propose to protect these combos? Modern is a format where everyone plays removal like Terminate , Path to Exile , Maelstrom Pulse , Go for the Throat , etc. Abyssal Persecutor isn't going to last very long and if not then they'll probably kill you with it.

Oh and Immortal Coil is to slow for modern, no matter how you slice it.

You need to find a way to make this combo 'go off' a little faster is all.

I should really start listing these things as casual :3. You see there isn't a modern-supporting card shop withing 100 miles of where I live. Everything is Standard Standard Standard. Plus I don't have any money to be doing these things... :P and Suggestions other than the removal of Dark Ritual and Immortal Coil would be greatly appreciated.

This is slightly like my Bazaar Trader deck - A Not So Bazaar Trade really really like the idea of using Bone Splinters. It may now be Modern, but who really cares! It's fun! +1

Yea Like I said it is more of a casual deck :3 but I want to know how to make it better without having to spend a lot of money. I have an, Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre that I am going to sell and I already have a play set of Dark Ritual and that is why that that is in there :3

Where are you buying your cards from? There are cheap places online like.... www.mtgmintcard.comwww.thecounterspell.com

And strangely enough, Amazon.com. They're actually quite cheap with free P&P. I'm from the UK but I spend a lot of time in America with my girlfriend.... often take the opportunity to order cards while there.

No problem man it is just that I am not quite sure how to improve this deck. Its actually really fun because I just play tested this against my buddies angel control deck and I was stealing his angels and using them as fodder to kill his angels with Bone Splinters so awesome. xD

Well as the deck so highly requires Bazaar Trader I would personally put some fetching in, Goblin Matron is a good choose but there are others such as Boggart Harbinger . I would personally replace Blightning with more creature removal to help stall while you set up the combo and Dominus of Fealty is basically an Act of Treason at the start of every one of your turns, worth considering. fun fun fun

Also if you just want to have fun with this deck then I sideboard Fling and Steel Golem SO MUCH FUN!

Steel Golem sounds absolutely hilarious. I don't really like Dominus of Fealty out of the colors of red and blue, but it looks really tempting. And Fling sounds hilarious for like a sideboard if you know they are playing big creatures. Like say a primordial hydra. xD

Also I really like the Blightning because it keeps them from having to many options to play in hand. Turn 3 when I would usually play it, they have about 2 cards in hand left anyways. So it stops them from having situationally useful/high cost cards.

Goblin Matron is a better tutor because it puts the card in your hand...

Have you tested Act of Aggression ? The instant speed works wonders. Also, Bazaar Trader cannot go unprotected, he dies so easily and people know he only goes in decks for combos.

I will consider Act of Aggression gladly. But what to use for protection?

Hey guys, how about Lightning Greaves for Bazaar Trader 's protection?

August 31, 2012 6:53 p.m.

jminute14 says...

Lightning Greaves is one of the better ways to give him protection, that's for sure.

I think you're running too many steal cards as is, you'd almost never want to cast Mark of Mutiny when you don't have the Trader out, unless you were holding another removal spell to off the stolen creature with. I really like the mark, but I'd probably cut a couple, for the Act of Aggression s, or the greaves. Whichever you like better.

I dont know where to put them :/

September 1, 2012 6:24 p.m.

I would suggest looking into other cards that would give your permanents away, other than Bazaar Trader . That means you'll have to look into playing blue in addition, but it also means more possibilities. A Grixis Trader deck would be cool!

Btw, Scrambleverse comes to mind...

You could use some mana accelerants other than Dark Ritual . Lotus Petal , Mox Opal , Mox Diamond , Infernal Plunge , etc.

I will work on making it a grixis trader deck! :D That sounds fun! The only reason Dark Ritual is in here is because I already own it. Ill work on it in the morning and you can see the progress.

September 2, 2012 12:25 a.m.

Dark Ritual isn't bad, man, on the contrary! I rephrase: Add in mana accelerants in ADDITION to Dark Ritual . You may also want to thin out the 5 CMC slots. The accelerants might not even be necessary, if you can make it work. Ponder , Brainstorm , etc. are another form of card advantage... It's all in how you want to put your pieces together.
