I see absolutely no reason not to run Lightning Axe, madness enabler and great removal! Take a look at my Vampire madness deck!

Chris3778 Thanks, it's really run to play as well.I also really love Call the Bloodline as it let me play creatures at instant speed during my opponent's turn, I'm considering throwing another one in the decks but I'm unsure if it's worth it.

Check out my my vampire deck

You need Bloodghasts. Your lands also need serious work. Fetches and shocks are what makes Modern playable. Sad but true. How big is your budget? Because Liliana of the Veil is godlike here if you can get her.

Now as for your creatures... too little focus, and you're spread too thin. Another new up and comer for madness vampires, Happymaster19, uses a deck with 3 Olivias and Stromkirk Captain. The ability to flash him into play is too good. Stromkirk Condemned is spectacular, I'd run 4. Heir of Falkenrath is the best vampire this archetype has. 3/2 flying for 2 mana is hard to pass up. Geier Reach Sanitarium is an excellent 1-of land besides the aforementioned fetches, shocks and fastlands. Falkenrath Gorger and Asylum Visitor should also be 4-ofs here. Yes, I know your deck won't look as fancy, but you want to focus on your really good creatures. Again 4 bloodgast is too good to not use. I'd lower Bloodhall Priest to 2. Call the Bloodline looks nice on paper but in practice it's awful. You don't need Alms of the Vein either. Apart from all that, Bloodmad Vampire would be good here, looking through your maybes.

Your sideboard looks just thrown together, no offense. You want situational cards in your side geared toward stopping problem matchups. For example, Dragon's Claw is useful against burn, Duress is good against Delver and combo decks, Fatal Push hurts Jund quite a bit, and so on.

I've been blunt here, I know. I'm working under the assumption you want to win and not just look fancy, and I'm here to tell you more focus is the path to victory for you.

Legendary_Crush he is easy to kill and my creature count is fairly low, I prefer to sacrifice my creatures to Voldaren Pariah  Flip if I ever have to sacrifice some. But thanks for the suggestion :)

Heir of Falkenrath  Flip should be a 4-of, a 3-damage flyer attacking on turn 3 is too good to miss, and it's an early madness enabler for things like a turn-3 Bloodhall Priest.

archfield1 Yes those are already bought like a week ago, I'm also consdering 1 more asylum and swaping my Falkenrath Gorger for the one that goes +2-2 when you discard a card. Furyblade is too inconsistant and predictable.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll make the changes when I receive my cards

Brucethemaster

BG Aetherwork when emrakul was legal. won most games unless I couldn't finish the game before emrakul was played.

WU - Spirit was a fair matchup 50% winrate

WB - Planewalker (gideo/liliana) is a hard matchup because liliana +1 can kill most of my stuff.

BR Eldrazi - 55% Winrate

BG - Marionette master - Easy matchup unless he gets a perfect hand for a turn 5 kill.Marionnette master is hella hard to kill when there's a panharmonicon on board. 7/9...

Most of my friends play Casual/Modern/Commander So Those are the only 5 decks I can test it against in the current standard.

I'm trying to play B/R Vampires as well :) Full disclosure I have really limited play-test experience so take my questions with a grain.

Key to the City: Do you feel like 1 is enough? I get that stalling the turn 2 drops may be counter-intuitive but this feels pretty powerful, especially if you can tech Drana, Liberator of Malakir.

Call the Bloodline: It's that good?! It sounds fun, can you talk about some of the better combos you've hit with this?

How come you don't main Smoldering Marsh?

X-Factor11105 Hello

Smoldering Marsh: Using this card will cut down 4 basic lands, Less basic lands = less chance to have Foreboding Ruins enter untapped. Maybe this isn't optimal but I don't like using too many non basic when I could buy a whole deck for a playset of them... (deck is all foil)

Key to the City: I've never actually played it in any game, everytime I had it it was either too late or had something better to play at that time. So I can't really give much feedback on this card and might just take it out of the deck.

Call the Bloodline: This card Won me games I should not have won and I might add 1 more instead of key. You can place a blocker w/ Lifelink ANYTIME you want on the battlefield and as If that wasn't good enough, it lets you play any madness at instant speed.

Some stuff that has happened in my games:

Opponent attack for a victory, Pay 1 , Discard Voldaren Pariah  Flip for madness cost, place a 1/1 blocker on the strongest creature, Sacrifice 2 creatures and the 1/1 lifelink to flip voldaken, leaving me with a 6/5 flyer and my opponent with a Gideon planwalker.

Pay 1, Discard Fiery Temper, get a 1/1 token. Pay madness, Deal 3 damage to player. Pay 1, Discard Alms of the Vein, get 1/1 token, Steal 3 life. Now you have 2 more blocker with lifelink, Gives you more creatures to sacrifice to voldaken if needed, and you did 6 damage, and gained 3 hp (potential 5) for 4 mana. I call this Pretty cost efficient.

@ghoul_Legion:

  • I hear on you Smoldering Marsh, they're expensive. I'm going to playtest 2-3 and see if their viable.

  • It'd be great to get an update after you see Key to the City in action a bit. I've seen it used here and there but I don't know if it's worth dropping it on T2 over any of the 2-mana drops in here.

  • Call the Bloodline sounds super intriguing! That plus Olivia, Mobilized for War could be incredible - have you seen that play out?

X-Factor11105 Not yet, Since I only run 1 of each, having both on the battlefield is kinda unreliable. But yea It could be great
