These Samurai won't shave. They are bushi do...
This deck is nowhere near finished, but I put it up here to get some suggestions. All suggestions are welcome!
This deck is built around the Bushido ability and boosting the power/toughness of all my creatures. Konda and Takeno are in there for obvious reasons, and Sensei is in there because Bushido can stack, so I can increase the bushido of all samurai who already have it. Otherworldy Journey is there for the free block and having my blocker come back with a +1/+1. Thoughts?
Yeah, I actually have a couple, I was considering them. I might go over 60 cards since I have a nice low CMC. Thoughts?
I would try to keep it as close to sixty as possible. But in an aggressive deck, being able to have blockers after an all-in attack is valuable. Maybe you could trim the Oblivion Ring's, seeing as how they are already a two-of. This would lessen your avg. CMC and keep the card count sixty or close to it.
constructive criticism
Viridian Longbow is a possible choice: you can use it to pick off small creatures, and it works wonders with Bushi Tenderfoot .
I don't really like Viridian Longbow 's equip cost... There probably won't be many 1/1 creatures on turn 3. I plan on using No-Dachi or Call to Glory to help my Bushi Tenderfoot kill creatures.
No Nagao, Bound by Honor ? He'd certainly give you an edge when you attack in a group (preferably, the larger, the better). I don't see how your deck wouldn't profit from an additional buff for your creatures while attacking (blocked or not).
I like the idea of Kusari-Gama but I just don't see what I could take out for it. It would just be another 1 of in my deck. As for Nagao, Bound by Honor the only thing I would consider taking out for it is Takeno, Samurai General but I would much rather Takeno show up than Nagao. Thank you though!
Really liking the theme of this deck, very unique. I can't wait to see the finished (or almost finished) list, it looks like that'd be worth building IRL, if only for casual. +1
Brave the Elements could be a win condition. Making everything unblockable for the final swing.
@pheonix_222 Maybe Brave the Elements instead of Otherworldly Journey ?
That sounds like a great improvement :D
The only other card you should play is Path to Exile . It deserves to be played in any deck with white in it. A lot of modern top-decks will splash white simply to run 4 Path to Exile . Exile removal for 1 mana at instant speed is just too powerful and should not be ignored. Can deal with almost all possible threats, from Griselbrand to Avacyn, Angel of Hope , Pestermite or Melira, Sylvok Outcast .
This should at least be in the sideboard for decks you need it, but I think Oblivion Ring is more the sideboard card, though running both in mainboard is never a bad thing, very rarely do you ever wish you didn't have that extra Path to Exile or Oblivion Ring .
I wouldnt be scared to run a bit into things outside kamigawa to compliment your samurai. maybe Signal Pest , Angel of Jubilation , Fireshrieker works very well with bushido, or anything that gives double-strike like Grappling Hook , maybe True Conviction and Mass Calcify for late-game trouble
