selesnya persist with a twist (Modern MTG Deck)

this deck is all about setting up small persist creatures early, and then using sacrifice mechanics paired with counter manipulation to make them unkillable. later also making them a massive threat with Master Biomancer

to be sure, Master Biomancer is the method to the madness for this deck. along with Spawning Pit , he lets me sacrifice my creatures infinitely (infinite life with Kitchen Finks) which makes them immune to almost anything. Path to Exile? ill sac him in response.. now you're thinking, ok well ill just kill your biomancer then. well ive got a nasty surprise for you. first, he's difficult to burn anyway, being toughness 4, and Power Conduit will quickly make that even harder.

now for the surprise:

we have two answers to destroy spells and path. my favorite is Vines of Vastwood. this will make him immune for the turn, and (assuming he is just 2/4) everything we play or sacrifice for the rest of the turn will enter with +6/+6. try doing that with your Melira, Sylvok Outcast deck >=)

the second answer, and also our answer for most boardwipes (still got nothing for Supreme Verdict) is Glen Elendra Archmage. this is a negate on a stick, FOR ONE BLUE, and it cant be countered. Stifle is relatively the only answer to it. this card is a huge part of why this deck is highly playable and competitive in the current modern meta. R/U and abzan control are easy matchups for this deck. Im a little worried about Languish when origins comes out, but for now, abzan and jund arent a threat to me.

i have an eldrazi sideboarded because my meta has aggro mill players.

this deck was disassembled over a year ago. It had its fun. won me 2 tournaments including a game-day event. and roughly $150. cant argue with that! =D

feel free to tech out of it, but bear in mind this deck, as is, will get outpaced by most decks in the meta today. co-co didn't exist when i was playing this, urzatron has changed a crazy ammount, lantern control didnt exist, twin no longer exists, thopter combo was still banned, and control wasn't fast enough. not to mention mono-red burn is now naya burn.

TLDR: this deck is too out-of date to be competitive anymore.
