The Weatherlight Captain's Storm

Commander / EDH Artifact Budget Storm UR (Izzet)

a somewhat budget Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain artifact storm deck. If you take out the fetch lands, you save around 200 $. you can replace them with basics that match the colours they etch for. I've been wanting a storm deck for a while now, but I can't bring myself to spend many 100 $ on a deck at the moment. I own some of these cards already, so it's a bit cheaper than the current price showing. but under 200 $ isn't bad. this is actually a slightly altered budget list by Mitch from the Commander's quarters, I've put a bit more effective mana rocks into the deck and a few storm spells. I hope you enjoy the deck and if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve the deck I would appreciate it.
The idea with this deck is to ´get Jhoira out early, preferably on turn 2-3 and start storming off and drawing cards. to this end there are lots of cost reducers in the deck so that ome artifacts can be cast for nothing. it is possible to cast all the artifacts for nothing except Darksteel Forge , but of course it requires setup. you need Helm of Awakening out as well as Jhoira's Familiar , Foundry Inspector , Herald of Kozilek and Etherium Sculptor . with these 5 out, all your other artifacts are free to cast except the forge which then costs 4 mana. with a card like Inspiring Statuary we can even use our artifacts to recast jhoira should she be killed.
The game plan: ramp to get Jhoira out early, so we start drawing cards. ideal opening hand would look something like this: Island , Mountain , Sol Ring , Foundry Inspector / Herald of Kozilek / Etherium Sculptor / Chief Engineer <-- 1 or 2 of these is fine (if 1 then Reckless Fireweaver is also nice) and finally, Aetherflux Reservoir
Turn 1: mountain/island and play Sol Ring
Turn 2: mountain/island and play Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain
Turn 3: play your cost reducer and maybe a land if you drawn it
Turn 4: play Aetherflux Reservoir and start storming off if you have drawn into stuff you can play out for cheap or free the following turns. after you have spammed out your artifacts for free, pull them back to your hand to replay them again and get your stormcount high up to finish them off with one of the following cards: Aetherflux Reservoir to death laser someone, Grapeshot to blast someone into oblivion, Temporal Fissure to return all all opponents permanents to hand, including lands and last but not least, Brain Freeze to mill someone to death that doesn't play a reshuffler. ancestoral statue with cost reduced by 4 gives infinite storm, as it can return it self to hand, so you replay it over and over, so this is very easy, it is also an artifact so it draws you into your win cons, you just cast it over and over about 50 times untill you have the win cons in hand and you win the game.
It should be said, that I labled this deck as budget, because I own most of the fetches in the mana base, but you don't really need them, I included them because I could. the deck runs fine without them, as Mitch has proven with his budget version. I've added Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith and Training Center to the list as I think he will be nuts here and the land is a "bond" land. this is why the deck shows as "not legal", but it will be in 10 days time.
