The Jeskai has always been a fascinating color combination for me, combining all of the utility of White with the high powered instants and sorceries of Red and Blue. However, there never was a commander in those colors that satisfied that Jeskai spell-slinging feel. The previous offerings resulted in obvious and usually hated strategies in either Shu-Yun (dealing as much double strike commander damage as fast as possible) or Narset (which most players despise playing against).

In comes Elsha, which provides less obvious and more diverse strategies that you can engage in, without giving away too many of your secrets.

Now, onto how this deck idea came about: When Fblthp, the Lost was spoiled, everyone got excited and their creative juices led them to create a creatureless combo deck that utilized Proteus Staff in order to stack your deck and draw 2 cards off of Fblthp entering the battlefield. That deck never really took off, as the combo was rather fragile and too reliant on the staff to be useful. Elsha, however, does not suffer from these issues. Granted, Elsha doesn't draw you those two sweet sweet cards off of an ETB trigger, but who cares when you are able to play your entire deck in one turn? At instant speed to boot!

So the main combos of this deck are: Stack your deck with the Staff combo as fast as possible so you can drop all your mana rocks and Dramatic Scepter to get infinite mana, then using Aetherflux to blast all opponents to death. Failing that, you also have Cloud Key, Elsha, and Top to draw your entire deck and set up those combos as well. With Blue and White being your primary colors that you lean into, and a healthy sprinkling of artifacts, you can run a lot of removal and counterspells to protect your combos when it comes time to go off. (You can even keep them on top of your deck for extra surprise! You can also pitch to Force of Will even when it is on to of your deck, making Mystical Tutor an effective 1-mana 1-card pitch counterspell!)
