So I built a The Ur-Dragon deck, because dragons of course.

The deck is based on the Draconic Domination precon, but with a reasonable amount of substitutions.

I'm striving to create a fun Dragon deck whithin a pretty small budget, so expect some non-optimal cards. I'm also trying to keep it all dragon-related (at least for creatures), so that's why there's no birds nor elves.

Also, I've assigned Custom Categories for each card, so check that out if you want.

What the Deck Wants to Do?

Play awesome Dragons as soon as possible.

How Does it Do That?

It ramps, and fixes mana, and removes early threats.

How Does It Win?

Attacking with a bunch of Dragons, of course! Besides Big Daddy himself, Dromoka, the Eternal, Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury and Atarka, World Render get out of control really fast. If we manege to get one of those on a board with some dragons already we are in a good position.

What Does It Do Before Turn 4:

It's funny because when Draconic Domination came out it was called turn4.deck, since most dragons have a CMC of 5 or more. That's why some cheaper dragons are here: Skyship Stalker, Territorial Hellkite, Thunderbreak Regent and Moltensteel Dragon can come out on turn 3 even if we didn't ramp before. That should keep us relevant until turn 4 or 5.

Besides casting cheap dragons, we use our early turns to setup. Rampant Growth, Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Herald's Horn, Dragonlord's Servant, Dragonspeaker Shaman, Fellwar Stone, Pillar of Origins, Darksteel Ingot, and etc will put us ahead on mana. With at least one of those out, we can cast our 6 CMC dragons on turn 4, which is always nice. Most of our ramp is colored mana, so we get a healhy amount of fixing here.

Lightning Greaves, Fires of Yavimaya, Dragon Tempest and Temur Ascendancy will give our dragons haste, so we get to attack with them before they eventually eat removal.

Swords to Plowshares, Darksteel Mutation, Lignify, Putrefy and Mortify will remove early threats. I tried to keep most spot removal at instant speed, so we can hold our mana and actually interact with the board. Draconic Domination has 0 instants out of the box for those who didn't know (seriously, look it up).

The Manabase

Budget is a thing and it turns out we're casting some pretty color intensive cards (looking at you Scion of the Ur-Dragon. So our best bet is:

With this setup we can use the Mirage fetches to acess 4 out of 5 colors, and maybe get the dual lands we want untapped.
