First Tournament Results —Nov. 23, 2012

Before I let you know what happened, there was a slight audible to the deck when making the actual build. When I went to get my Runechanter's Pikes I couldn't find them and had to figure something comparable out. I ended up going with Inquisitor's Flail, and I have to say it's MUCH better than the pike.

ROUND 1 - vs. Jund Mid-Range
My first pairing was against a pretty basic mid-range deck that flat out couldn't keep up. Even on the draw in game 1 I was able to out rush a turn 3 Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip and seal the deal with a Syncopate on a desperation Olivia Voldaren turn 5.
Game 2 just ended up being a great draw with a turn 2 Invisible Stalker, turn 3 miracle Blessings of Nature to hit for 5 and play my Inquisitor's Flail, and finally after my opponent shocked himself I ended with a Giant Growth on the stalker to swing for a lethal 16.
RESULT: W 2-0 (Overall 1-0)

Round 2 - vs. 4-Color Re-animator
This deck was actually put together extremely well and gave me some fits. I was able to aggro like crazy game 1 with help from a missed land drop by my opponent and win turn 7 with just a Latch Seeker enchanted with Rancor.
The second game I got slightly mana-screwed and couldn't beef up by more than 1 spell per turn so the pace slowed down. A miracle Bonfire of the Damned for 1 damage wiped my board and ended up losing the game for me.
Game 3 I had a team of 2 Stalkers and a flipped Delver steadily applying pressure while my opponent got flooded. When he finally hit a creature spell I Syncopated it and nipped it in the butt.
RESULT: W 2-1 (Overall 2-0)

Round 3: vs. Azorius Mid-Range Humans
My opponent called it "mid-range" but it was more aggro than anything else. The "humans" part was right though. Game 1 was a pure slobber-knocker and we traded huge blows back and forth until my turn 5 delver flip plus Giant Growth and Inquisitor's Flail won. Games 2 and 3 were pretty much both the same. I side-boarded out all of my control and went for faster aggro while he brought in heavier control to slow me down and pace. Both games I was able to get him to under 5 life before he swept my board with Cyclonic Rift and swung for the win.
RESULT: L 1-2 (Overall: 2-1)

Round 4: vs. 4-Color Superfriends
This was easily my hardest matchup. He ran 8 board sweeps main deck (4 Supreme Verdict, 2 Terminus, and 2 Cyclonic Rift) plus an extra 2 each of Terminus and rift in the sideboard. I had the opportunity to kill him Game 1, but made a bad misplay that led into a board kill and was dead from there out. Game 2 was much of the same, but without the misplay. Even with a good start, a turn 4 and turn 6 Supreme Verdict kept me completely unable to do anything while he made lots of planeswalker tokens and rushed in for the win.
RESULT: L 0-2 (Overall: 2-2)

I was actually pretty happy with the way the deck ran (especially after the swap for Inquisitor's Flail. I have a few ideas for some tweaks, but your suggestions are always welcome.

I feel like you need less land. 21 or even 20 would be fine. you have such a small manna curve. You could even put Blessings of Nature in here, for extra pump. Every time i draw, i never get to transform delver.

@PrestonShackelfurd: The deck runs best with a land drop every turn, so I feel the excess in land is necessary. I also have found a difficult time flipping Delver of Secrets  Flip , but I'm having a hard time deciding what to cut for more instants/sorceries. I thought about Blessings of Nature when I put in Revenge of the Hunted and might just swap them 1 for 1 considering the counters will stay.and it can be hard cast a turn sooner. Thanks for the suggestions.

Any Reasons for Syncopate other than random countering?

Syncopate is pretty much to take care of any mass removal that would get rid of my stalkers. It's also another instant to flip delver. I'm not worried about Guttersnipe cause by the time he gets going I should have my opponent on the ropes.

That being said, if I find something better to replace it it'll move to the board, but for now I like it's versatility against removal, zombies, and any other major threats.

Thanks for the suggestions though! Much appreciated!
