Hello, and welcome again to the wonderful world of Dark Souls! Today I have, for you, a variant of competitive delver with a bit of Dark Souls flair. As you may have noticed, this particular build is is constructed around the theme of the tutorial level in the game: The Undead Asylum.

Generally, the strategy for this deck is a pretty basic one: first you fill your graveyard, then you cast your creatures from there, finally you get the bitches.

I tried to mix flavor with efficiency so the card choices are not 'optimal' given the existence of Delver as an archetype. That being said, let's go over the various decisions made at each stage.

Creatures:

Golgari Thug : So.....flavor wise this card is a bit of a stretch. The way I'm justifying him is that he's the playable character who started as a rogue esk class. Utility wise though, he's a monster and I couldn't just leave him out of the deck. He's just too damn great at throwing things into my graveyard!

Gravecrawler: As you all know the Undead Asylum is meant to keep the undead/ bearers of the dark sign prisoner. Who better to represent those who cant be killed no matter how hard they try! Gravecrawler lets me pull all kinds of things out of my graveyard back to the field and is himself (or herself?) an aggro machine.

Lotleth Troll: Another zomb..I mean undead in the asylum. Lets me dump creatures into my GY from my hand to grow him. He also has some pretty great synergy with the rest of the deck.

Tombstalker: Who could miss our very first boss, the Aslyum Demon! He's a 5/5 body that can be cast with delve. Best of all I can grab him from the GY with Thug if I mill him.

Stitchwing Skaab: Has some solid recursion that can be activated at instant speed and lets me discard to the GY. He also gives a flying threat.

Prized Amalgam: Oh boy...do I--do I really need to explain?

Haakon, Stromgald Scourge: Oscar?! Is that you!!?? You're not looking too great after getting thrown about on the roof...It's a good thing you're undead or I'd be worried. Hakkon works pretty well for this build. He's a 3/3 body I can slap on the field from the GY, he can be tossed away to delve if more than one of him is in the GY, and I can discard him to my Troll so I can play him next turn.

Stinkweed Imp: I'm going to pretend that the gargoyles from Anor Lando live here. It's just too good (and cheap) to not include ion the deck!

Spells:

Collective Brutality: A great way to fill the graveyard with added utility to boot!

Darkblast : Dredge 3 + (-1/-1) for a creature? Sounds like a great combat trick to me.

Grisly Salvage: Fill the GY and grab a card.

Life from the Loam: I am going to need lands at some point, right?
