Description

Cheap tickets, plenty of blood. Typical Rakdos aggro deck. The main objective is to hit hard and fast with my creatures while either burning their health away or removing potential blockers. No fancy 20 dollar rares here...just straight forward budget ass kicking.

After the last rotation, I decided to go in the direction of counters and proliferating those.

Rubblebelt Maaka seriously.

It's like lightning bolt to the face, or preserves a creature during combat, or makes Hellhole Flailer am even better card to Fling with his ability... Just don't play Rubblebelt Maaka as a creature, if it's to the point that you NEED a 3/3 for 4 mana then scooping might be as good an option as playing the maaka as a creature...

Interesting suggestion. That's one of the Bloodrush creatures I've been considering.

I'm pretty sure it's the only one that has the value of 3 damage for 1 mana and is red (I know there's a green one that's almost the same)

November 7, 2013 9:23 p.m.

Right on. I will have to sort through my cards and see if I have any.

I know you're trying to stay budget and money is tight, but Underworld Cerberus is amazing

November 7, 2013 9:41 p.m.

Haha oh yeah. I'm debating about Desecration Demon I only have 1 though.

Hmmmmmm Desecration Demon well if I were you I'd drop a Deviant Glee to fit him in as a singleton. Test him out see how he works out. He can't be bad, either the opponent gets attacked by a beast, or sacrifices a creature. Win-win!!

Take a look at my deck fathoming the UnFathomable I also am keeping that deck card for card with my real cards

The only thing with dropping Deviant is it can provide a nice early boost and the benefit of Trample.

I did look at that deck. Its pretty nice.

"White/lifegain is what is really hurting. Any suggestions?"

What about Mindsparker (I know, it's a rare, but looks like it's cheap atm) and Skullcrack ?

November 19, 2013 12:25 p.m.

Esperret says... #12

I like the Skullcrack a lot. However, maybe Lifebane Zombie would be a better color hoser than Mindsparker .

The Dying Wish would be good to sideboard in.

Maybe something o tax the opponent, like Sinister Possession or also, never doubt the power of Havoc Festival and Sire Of Insanity

Mizzium Mortars !!! that would be great to remove problem Archangel of Thune s quickly, and wipe the field of the thune'd army before it gets out of hand. However, if an archangel has made an army, then Doom Blade or Ultimate Price would have to kill her. Or Rakdos, Lord of Riots . Or a Rakdos Drake enchanted with Baleful Eidolon . R/B decks are at no loss of removal.

@Esperret: I agree that Lifebane Zombie is better, but since a good amount of decks are using it atm (and imho is great in black devotion decks), it's more expensive than Mindsparker .

:( stupid price differences :(

November 19, 2013 2:48 p.m.

Thanks for the suggestions. Lifebane Zombie and Mizzium Mortars are a tad bit out of my price range ATM. Mindsparker is an interesting (and wallet friendly)) idea, though. Dying Wish on a madcapped flailer is just mean, and that's why it is sideboarded. I've thought about Havoc Festival but with its cost, it may come in too late to really help.

Sideboard the skullcracks until you need them vs white life gain and fit in some more doom blades and dreadbores

Love Rakdos! Consider Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch .

December 28, 2013 12:02 p.m.

What would you consider dropping for Exava?

-2 Tormented Hero

+2 Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch

A 2/1 heroic creature for B does sound nice at first, but ETB tapped is not the Rakdos Way! Besides, with only 6 spells that you'd want to target the Hero with, I don't think the heroic ability will be relevant too often.

Consider also Gore-House Chainwalker in place of Rakdos Shred-Freak if you're going to use Exava. Chainwalker has same cmc as Shred-Freak, and if unleashed with Exava out would be a 3/2 with haste instead of a 2/1 with haste. Maybe two of each, because it is a compromise: Exava has to be out for Chainwalker to be hasty, and if you do unleash him to be hasty in Exava's presence, then you can't block with him. (But who blocks when using a Rakdos deck anyway?!)
