Don't. Do. Anything. The Science Dragon forbids it.
So yes, I'm very fond of the Izzet league. How could you tell? This is the deck I'm taking to Friday Night Magic until Gatecrash comes out and I build a RUG deck...
Still, it's a control/burn deck with aggro splashes. Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius and Hypersonic Dragon are some powerful finishers, and the weirds and Nivmagus Elemental s can be pretty strong.
PIANO!
I suggest cutting a Hypersonic Dragon , as it seems only moderately useful... Cyclonic Rift would be a good replacement.
I've discovered that Essence Backlash is NOT "very bad".
It's instead "very situational." I'm going to board it in against aggro decks. "Oh, hi, Rakdos. Bye, Rakdos."

PIANO!
I might drop Frostburn Weird for 2 more Guttersnipe s or 2 more Pillar of Flame . You aren't playing aggro here with this many late game drops so cutting back on your aggroish creatures in favor of more control elements wouldn't go amiss.
Cyclonic Rift is another AMAZING card. It hoses so much.
