Maybeboard

Okay, it's not really infinite, but pretty close!

This is a deck that i worked hard on for the last few days and I was very proud when i wiped the floor with it at my friends house the other night. You see, Im not that into combat damage. I'd rather win in some wierd, unexpected and preferably hilarious durdle type of way - and this deck manages to do just that, with a two card almost inf combo.

Altar of the Brood + Undead Alchemist. This combo requires more than one opponent, or atleast one with a lot of creatures in the deck. I had 3 opponentes, with one of them playing a creature heavy deck and thats what made it work like a charm when I got it off.

with Altar of the Brood on the board when you play Undead Alchemist it will trigger all of your opponents to mill 1 card from the top of their library to their graveyard. If there is a creature among the milled cards Undead Alchemist will trigger and make a 2/2 zombie token for you while exiling the creature card - and since tokens are permanents, when the token enters the battlefield Altar of the Brood will trigger again and the trigger wombo combo can begin.

Even better is when you have Mirage Mirror on the board - copying Altar of the Brood for double mill whenever you get a zombie, or copying Undead Alchemist for double zombie wich every milled creature card. This is because if you control multiple Undead Alchemists the triggered ability of each Undead Alchemist you control will trigger. The first such ability to resolve will exile that creature card and create a Zombie token. Subsequent abilities won’t exile the creature card, but each will create another Zombie token.

If you manage to keep the mill going you will end up with upwards of 40+ zombie tokens on your board and your opponents will be milled to death. One of my opponents even had Kozilek, Butcher of Truth in his deck but since Undead Alchemist exiles the creature it was not a problem, even if he got the trigger to shuffle his graveyard into his library once, it was not enough.

You do have to be ready to keep the mill engine going tho, since if no creature cards are milled, the combo will stop. My best tip is using the second ability on The Scarab God to get another zombie into play from a graveyard and hopefully getting the millcombo running on its own a while longer. And if the mill doesent kill off every single one of your opponents, you now have a massive board of zombies wich will kill everyone on your upkeep with The Scarab God's first ability. Especially so if you have Paradox Haze out to get the ability off twice.

Mana ramp

Carddraw

I favor effects that draw me cards at the beginning of my upkeep, That way I get more value from my Paradox Haze. I also favor drawing that comes attached to a creature. For example, normally i'm not a fan of Graveborn Muse but in this deck i can use deck:The Scarab God to bring her back in instant speed at the end step before my turn, wich also makes me scry a little more with deck:The Scarab God before i draw with the Graveborn Muse trigger.

Targeted removal

One of my favorite cards in the deck is actually Amulet of Vigor. We can easily acquire it through Trinket Mage and it goes so well with so many cards, of course Thawing Glaciers just becomes a basic land tutor every turn. But every card in this ramp list that puts land into play tapped just becomes so much better.

But also Zombies very often comes into play tapped, with Amulet of Vigor then that is not longer a concern.

Then there are the lands that come into plat tapped

and of course the MVP land with Amulet of Vigor, namely Thawing Glaciers

January 2021 Update

I did a big rework on the deck, shifting focus away from tribal and token generation as a primary priority, removing cards like Endless Ranks of the Dead. Instead trying to focus on The Scarab Gods activated ability, which means milling and recursion.

September 2018 Update

I removed some of the underperforming cards, mainly cards revolving around activated abilities:

I added cards more oriented around the value of The Scarab Gods ability to make tokens:

Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think!

PS. I love zombies, and graveyard manipulation and i love to make wierd things work, if you liked this, you might enjoy my other EDH deck zombie-tunnel-vision-1 wich also has zombies, mill and a wierd combo.
