Sideboard

Hello! Here is a midrange deck inspired by the Modern Rock (Abzan) deck .

Someone said that Magic is about card advantage,... So, the plan is to grind the game with card advantage and to put down as soon as possible Deeproot Champion and Paladin of Atonement. The latter get a +1/+1 counter every turn (even on your opponent's) that you loose life. So use your life-land to pump it up. Those creatures do not need to be very big, they just need to present a threat if unchecked and to dive in for damage when needed.

This deck may seem a little all over the place, but I assure you that it is a ton of fun and that there is many nice plays to do.

About card advantage, Ruin Raider, Torment of Hailfire, Oketra the True, Journey to Eternity, Profane Procession and Ajani Unyielding all provide some kind of advantage.

About the mana curve : you will see that the drops are absent from this deck. The idea is to activate Journey to Eternity and Profane Procession instead or to play two cards in that spot (like a Doomfall before playing a creature).

The sidebord is designed to adopt another stance vs aggro or control. Vs aggro, bring in the removals and take out Ruin Raider, Profane Procession (to slow) and Torment of Hailfire. Against control, bring in Blossoming Defense to protect your creatures, Gideon's Intervention and the ever-good Duress. Take out Fatal Push and the other removals. Never take out Ixalan's Binding, as it is always good in my opinion.

For now, this deck, is pretty low cost. I will like to try in it expensive Planeswalkers like Vraska, Relic Seeker and better removal like Vraska's Contempt.

Wow, tappedout say that this deck is 100 % competitive!
