Ooooo I just had an idea.

Construct Tribal.

There are 32 Constructs in standard including the Gearhulks, Pummeler, and Walking Ballista. Multiform Wonder always seemed good but I don't think it ever got much play, and there's always that good ol' Bomat Courier. Not sure it's all good enough for Standard, but there's certainly a whole lot of supporting artifacts to help them along. Also, Foundry Inspector and Chief of the Foundry would be pretty sweet. Ballista doesn't just die when you take the last counter away and you can get an extra counter on him if you spend an odd amount of mana.

Love how the deck is progressing; another crazy idea I had, what about Soul-Scar Mage? He doesn't have haste (rip swiftspear) but prowess making him swing for 6 on turn 2 with an invigorated rampage seems kinda gross. That, and you can do shenanigans before damage with Harnessed Lightning and wither your opponent's creature so it doesn't trade into your stuff. Might be more fitting in a 'Return of Izzet Machinegun' decklist but I just thought of him and wondered if he was good enough to make a cut. Cheers, gonna run a version of this at FNM tonight and see how we do.

Oh yeah, you were wondering about what Amonkhet adds!

So it added some specific cards of course. But probably the biggest thing is that Amonkhet shifted the meta around, to where decks with Walking Ballista are not that powerful any more ... when Ballista was all over the place, it was almost impossible to keep Pummeler alive long enough to do any good.

Soul-Scar Mage is a great card, but this deck is more about combat damage than non-combat damage, and it doesn't really have that many cards that trigger Prowess. So Mage isn't a great fit here. Maybe in a build with more Burn, more Flings, and some Dynavolt Towers? Thanks though!
