Nicol Bolas theme deck! Elder Dragon Highlander, back to its roots... kind of.

A lot of the cards here are associated with Bolas, either explicitly on the card, through the story (such as Planar Bridge ), or by being in one of the three preconstructed decks themed on Nicol Bolas (Duel Deck, Archenemy, and The Deceiver).

And when it comes to the exceptions, the cards that aren't associated with Bolas at all, I only included cards that I believe Nicol Bolas would be thrilled to use. Grave Upheaval looks like it'd be right up his alley, and he surely wouldn't want to do without Sol Ring given the chance.

That said, I think this is way more powerful than other theme decks I've built. It makes sense - there are a LOT of Bolas-themed cards, most of which are pretty strong, and for a while this decklist had an astoundingly bad case of 100-Card Syndrome. I'll be paying attention in playtesting to what cards aren't working, since there are options waiting in the wings to be slotted in.
