Update for DGM —April 27, 2013

added some Putrefy moved one Abrupt Decay to the sideboard. Removed Witchbane Orb and thormod's crypt and added in some Crypt Incursion.

the reason i choose Crypt Incursion is for the lifegain + for the instant speed. if you keep 3 lands untapped and one of them is blue the oponent might think 2ce before casting something. and even if not you can still use it in reaction to Unburial Rites or to the enemy swinging in for the last bit of damage.

I've thought about adding Blood Scrivener but you usualy have some of the combo pieces in hand so he wouldn't trigger as much. Thinking about adding Varolz, the Scar-Striped with Lotleth Troll. not sure if i should run it as mainboard or side

Seems like you struggle against flyers. Watch out for affinity or poison decks that with hit you with pumped up blinkmoths

It's a standard deck:). So only flyer decks are spirit decks or esper token. where in both cases i get out Vampire Nighthawk and Sever the Bloodline and Golgari Charm if needed (Collective Blessing , Favorable Winds , Intangible Virtue heavy decks)

I mainly play on cockatrice where i havn't encountered Delver of Secrets  Flip or Talrand, Sky Summoner decks yet. (again in standard)

Havengul Lich ? You're already splashing blue, so it shouldn't hurt your mana too much, with Rooftop Storm it allows you to reanimate your zombies for 1 (useful if someone sideboards in Pillar of Flame to deal with Gravecrawler . It would be an alternative to Garruk Relentless  Flip because it doesn't combo particularly well with it. I'm not too sure on having Garruk myself he is a bit risky, but if he works for you :)

I've thought about Havengul Lich , but my creatures don't have active ability's and he costs 5 cmc. also all my creatures work outside of the combo aswell. and i've found Garruk Relentless  Flip to have plenty of uses. but the main thing he does is tutor creatures i need. Something Havengul Lich doesn't do.

He might work as a sideboard card but i just don't know what to remove for him. but he would mostly work against heavy removal wich would just use a removal spell on him aswell...

Although he seems like fun to play i just don't have a spot for him atm. thanks for the suggestion though.

no rancor?

Rancor would be great the only problem is there kinda is no room for a pump spell. running pretty much the right amount of removal and card:Altar's Reap realy saved the deck more then a couple occasions.

I get the need for it in BG zombies or anny other beatdown with green but this deck more often then not finishes in a combo. The purpose of Rancor would be to deal damage against stuf that blocks with small guys all the time but Blood Artist makes sure chump blocking still has an impact.

It punishes weak hands/no early plays by having an agro element. But with most creatures being 3 cmc it just isn't fast enough to be a pure agro deck nor strong enough to be a beatdown deck like naya.

So far the deck has had about 50/50 chances vs most of the tier 1 decks. Biggest problem being decks with Pillar of Flame . (big reason card:Altar's Reap is so important)

Love the combo. Ever consider dropping green to add red? Dreadbore and Blasphemous Act come to mind. Maybe add the nighthawks back to replace dreg? There's probably another good sac zombie I'm not thinking of...

or maybe add some Syncopate,Duress, rakdos return to add some control?

problem at the moment for this deck is that it doesn't fair well against Boros Reckoner.. so i havn't realy been updating this post gatecrash. Also the Angel of Glory's Rise kinda ruined anny attempt of this deck..

but if you like it you migth want to experiment with Rapid Hybridization and/or Spell Rupture in here.

Green has Garruk Relentless  Flip wich is the bomb in this deck and Abrupt Decay can kill stuf from aggro decks and kill those gy hate cards. also Golgari Charm vs boardwipes and/or enchants and/or Lingering Souls/sorin and Ground Seal will shut down rites decks anny snapcaster atempts and hate on the never played deathrite shaman)
