Welcome to the best fifth of the colour pie

in magic, black represents great power at great cost

I want this deck to be a hundred piece embodiment of the colour in its most spectacular, big mana - big plays form, while keeping the budget within reason (<100€).

Why Volrath the Fallen ? For our objective of ramping up and going tall, Volrath synergizes perfectly with wanting to use the most timmy creatures in black, while also enabling a reanimator strategy. I also think Voltron as a primary win condition is more fun to play than others options like a slow value grind or looping Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Kokusho, the Evening Star . However, one of these will be included and can in some instances be an alternate win condition in case our boy Volrath is unusable.
