Sideboard

Maybeboard

Making a second attempt at a "discard matters" build that takes advantage of discarding things on purpose and utilizes the most interesting new Elder Dinosaur, Nezahal, Primal Tide.

I find that Nezehal should make good friends with Kefnet the Mindful and Archfiend of Ifnir to help seal the deal in the mid-late game, while Shadowstorm Vizier should prove threatening while cycling and discarding in the early game to help dig for the finish.

When you are ready, Abandoned Sarcophagus let's you play the things you ditched in the early game to dig for your setup and use them to close the game, usually in the air.

Drake Haven and Faith of the Devoted give you a few options to either flood the board with flyers or drain your opponent without combat. I wanted these in the sideboard, but early testing had me pull them in pretty much every time.

Anyway, plenty of spot removal and countermagic to keep yourself going through the game, hopefully, it all comes together for the win :)

If this works well and takes off I'll get into more specific interactions, but testing the idea has proven that it absolutely can work, and it's pretty fun. I do really really miss Alms of the Vein...
