"What’s green, hangs on the wall, and whistles?"

"A herring"

So I'd taken a chance at re-building the Izzet Gizmometry pre-con deck and handed it to my brother to play something different from his green saporling aggro deck. Turns out I didn't quite remember how the Izzet deck was built, and my changes weren't an improvement. But he got the idea.

So I started to try to improve on that deck and got distracted and ended up building a mono red burn deck instead. My cards are old so the first version of this was vintage / legacy, and slow. I've been reading a ton this weekend and tweaked it up to live as a modern pauper deck. The side board is there so that if I run into the occasion to play multiplayer I can swap out the mechanics a bit and not totally embarrass myself.

As for the name, my brother is colorblind ... and an ass.

So I've been running into a Mana Glut, so I'm testing some ideas shamelessly stolen from Hyper-Competitive Pauper Burn and it's comments. Mostly surrounding card draw.

I may drop some cash and drop out of Modern into Legacy for Chain Lightning. It really speeds the deck up a lot, moving from averaging turn 6-7 minimum to turn 4-5 minimum. It really destroys the concept of "budget" though because a playset of Chain Lightning costs more than the deck does currently.
