Sideboard

Opponent: "Hey buddy! Why do you call that deck the "Hate Mill"?" Me: "Do you hate it?" O: "Yes" M: "Did it mill you out?" O: "Yes" M: "Well, there you go."

Now, I know what you're thinking..."Ginger, are you nuts?!", well yes, we've had this discussion before. A mono-colored mill deck in Standard? Well, after the relative mild successes (no thanks to Golgarbage players) that I've had with Abusive Surveillance, Volume One, I decided to take it back to mono-blue and see what, if anything could be done in that color to literally deny the Golgarbage turds that run rampant in my meta the ability to do anything. Now sure, a mill deck would just fuel the Undergrowth abusers, but throw in a little cheap control in there and make everything you do hurt? Yeah, that's my kind of play. Without further adieu, here's how this works.

The central theme of this deck is mill, with control undertones, in order to force cards out of the deck with nearly, if not every cast of a spell. How does it accomplish this? First, Drowned Secrets, anytime I toss a non-land blue spell, my opponent loses two cards off the top. Second, Psychic Corrosion, whenever I draw a card, my opponent loses two more off the top. Combine those with Patient Rebuilding, Omniscience, Overflowing Insight and Weight of Memory and my opponents cards are flying off the top of their library faster than a rat off a sinking ship. Adding further benefit off my instants and sorceries are Murmuring Mystic and Naru Meha, Master Wizard, with one generating a metric ton of 1/1 tokens and the other copying spells. The instants in this deck are purely either counters or card draw, in order to fight off any attempts to disrupt my rhythm.

Sideboard will be added later, but expect it to include mostly cards boosting the counts up to 4x of each card in the deck, plus four Devious Cover-Up in order to recycle cards from my grave, if games start going long enough that this becomes necessary.

NOW UPDATED WITH CARDS FROM WAR OF THE SPARK!! Added: Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, because if our opponent won't let us mill them, we can mill ourselves out for the win.
