"Entertain Me" - Rakdos, Parun of the Cult of Rakdos

This is deck No. 6 in my Ravnica Commander Challenge in which I design a commander deck for each of the 10 Guilds on Ravnica using one of the Guild Leaders/Guild Champions from any Ravnica set, this time, we're going to Ravnica's Entertainment District and joining the sadistic carnival loving Cult of Rakdos, led by their (Ring)Master Rakdos, the Showstopper !

"Come one, come all, to the greatest show on Ravnica! We have the greatest of carnal delights to feast your eyes on tonight to amaze even the most uptight of Azorius Arresters! Step right through these curtains and prepare to be blown away! (maybe literally)

Why Rakdos, the Showstopper?

Since I first got into magic and read up about Ravnica The Cult of Rakdos had always been one of my favourite guilds through lore alone, there's something really fun and interesting I found about a group of psychotic cultists performing literal death acts to appease the crowds of onlookers whilst also entertaining their master who happened to be an ancient Demon who was lumped with leadership of a guild in an effort to stop him destroying the plane. Each time we've returned to Ravnica the Rakdos have been morphed more and more into a carnival of entertainers, and when Rakdos, the Showstopper was revealed I knew then that this deck will be releasing my inner Vorthos.

Warmup

Whilst the early birds are coming to get the best seats in the house it's time for you to set the stage, your early turns will consist of playing lands (flavour win if early lands consist of Rakdos Guildgate & Rakdos Carnarium ), your opening acts pieces of equipment (any mana rocks) and stage props such as Phyrexian Arena to get you drawing plenty of cards in the early moments of the show, once the seats are packed it's showtime!

Opening Acts

If your hand/plays are looking a little lackluster maybe you can Light Up the Stage to set the atmosphere for the evening as we begin to welcome the opening acts of the night, wow them with the flaming hot juggling skills of Rix Maadi Reveler , Chaos Harlequin and Rakdos Firewheeler , the tantalizing tightrope skills of Gore-House Chainwalker and even the brazen blade skills of Rakdos Cackler and Thrill-Kill Assassin (may or may not be an actual assassin). With the crowd being entertained it's time to take a brief intermission from your Rakdos Ringleader duties and help set up.

Brief Intermission

Whilst the crowds are being wowed with your performers impressive array of acrobatic and death (occasionally literal) defying moves, now is the time to set the stage for the grand finale! Lay down any remaining trinkets you have left ( Sol Ring , Worn Powerstone , Gilded Lotus etc.) and other equipment needed for your ensemble ( Quietus Spike , Commander's Sphere , Heartless Summoning etc.) and then stand back and enjoy the show!

The Grand Finale!

What kind of Grand Finale would it be without a couple of demons right?!... Well it wouldn't be a Rakdos one that's for sure! Everything has been set up and leading to the climax of the night! And no one is leaving without a bit of blood being spilled, Desecration Demon , Demon of Wailing Agonies , Archfiend of Despair , Master of Cruelties and many more love nothing more than to send spectators home with a few scars and occasional mauling, and this is exactly what they intend to do! Whether your fans are losing life, discarding cards or sacrificing permanents there's a demon for everybody to enjoy! And just as the crowds beginning to get restless our Parun Rakdos, the Showstopper lives up to his namesake and ends the show with a bang! Picking and choosing who he deems worthy to leave alive, once the smoke clears it's the time again for Rakdos' followers to swoop in for the final bow and close the night!

So after a lot of screaming and blood we end Ravnica's Greatest Show for another day, we hope you got what you were expecting as our Master eagerly awaits your return!
