Grenzo, Dungeon Warden was the first competitive and/or combo commander deck I built and I thought I'd make a deck list and breakdown of the deck. I started out with mono red purpherous goblins and picked up Grenzo to make it rakdos as I found mono red really inconsistent with lack of tutors, and janky card draw. The deck worked pretty well as a splashy goblins deck but once I did more research and discovered most decks ran Doomsday, the great combo deck was born. When originally built, the deck ran a Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker/Zealous Conscripts cheated out with Doomsday combo and a Necrotic Ooze combo as a back up. I ended up scrapping the Necrotic Ooze combo for a Worldgorger dragon combo that strait wins the game on the spot and uses the same pieces as the doomsday combo.

Combos

1)Doomsday

~ Basically want to set up your library with a specific sequence of 5 creatures, so you can 'cheat' the creatures from the bottom of your library using grenzo's ability to combo for the win. to break it down your libray top two/three cards are going to be combo pieces, and the bottom two/three will be mana generators to cheat the combo pieces out all in the same turn.

When comboing off with doomsday you need 2 Things

• First thing you need is to answer, do I wanna swing with infinite creatures, or go for infinite shock damage? essentially what cards you want to make the top of your library when you use Doomsday. Those cards being your infinite combo generators.

Usually you can win with infinite haste creatures, and if so you choose Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker as your second and Zealous Conscripts as your first card. When going this route remeber that Grenzo will need 3 power. If he doesn't make sure the third from the top card is Goblin Sledder or Mad Auntie.

If for some reason you cant win with infinite haste creatures. For example any of the following are on the battlefield;Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, Windborn Muse or Crawlspace), Then your third from top card will be Metallic Mimic choosing goblin when it enters. For the second to top card you want Skirk Prospector, and top card of your library will be Murderous Redcap, it will receive a +1/+1 counter when it enters and deals 3 damage to any target. You win this way by sacrificing Murderous Redcap to Skirk Prospector, it then comes back with its persist ability placing a -1/-1 counter, and Metallic Mimic adding a +1/+1 counter "canceling' each other out making Murderous Redcap enter with no counters dealing 2 damage to any target, this allows you to sac and bring back Murderous Redcap infinite times and creates a damage combo ending the game.

• Secondly 3 black mana for doomsday and enough mana to activate grenzo's ability enough to win

You have to be able to cast Doomsday, and cheat four/five creatures from the bottom of your library all in 1 turn. Idealy Doomsday combos use Workhorse as the bottom card to cheat 2 creatures and then have a Priest of Urabrask and Priest of Gix. if you need 3 combo pieces (kiki,zeal,sledder/redcap,mimic,prospec) you will end up short and need more than 5 mana to cheat the combo in. the most mana efficent way to do this is with Treasonous Ogre. With Treasonous Ogre you can pull of the doomsday combo with 5 (at least 3 black) mana, if you have 7 or more life to pay for Treasonous Ogre's mana ability twice.

2) Worldgorger Dragon

~ Essentially you want to get Worldgorger Dragon and have atleast 1 other creature in your graveyard, float all your mana then use Animate Dead (or simular card) to animate Worldgorger Dragon, exiling your board. when Worldgorger Dragon exiles your board Animate Dead is exiled making Worldgorger Dragon die. once dead you get all you perminants exiled with Worldgorger Dragon back (untapped) including Animate Dead. float all mana again choose Worldgorger Dragon with Animate Dead and you have an infinate mana loop. once you established that you can float infinite mana to the table, animate the other creature in your graveyard to end the Worldgorger Dragon loop. With infinite mana you can activate grenzo's ability to put all creatures from your deck into play. With Kozilek, Butcher of Truth in the deck activating grenzo's ability can get creatures you have in the gravceyard, or stop from being decked. Being able to put all creatures from the deck to field is basically and insta win, either by getting combo pieces in play or just having well your whole deck in play, enough said.
