Rakdos may not be easy to get out of his general's tent, but when he finally arrives on the battlefield, the army marches on like there's no tomorrow!

THE ARMY

This military operation packs a lot of artifact creatures that are cheap, zealous recruits, fighting for their Motherland for free. Soviet anthem starts playing

This bunch includes veterans the likes of The Old Idolizer, burning pilgrim, doom engine and El Wurmo *f-pre*ES. Battleball, walking deployer, and flying hangar are responsible for recruiting new members, while the Scrap Avatar provides protection.

There are also some non-artifact gray troopers, like eldrazi artisan or the gray tutor. But still, most of them are shining metal-plated "knights" of the Motherland.

THE GRAYNESS

No campaign ever gone anywhere without sufficient support. In this army, it's two-fold: Feldon, the Overseer or speed engineer each care about artifacts, and hellkite thief can even win the whole war with them. Meanwhile, general Daretti brings his Scrap Mastery Team, which includes lil' welder, lil' tinkerer, the Iron Giant and angry thrower, to name a few.

<>

THE PAIN

To cast all of this goodnes (or at least the creatures) for free, we need to hurt the enemies of the Motherland!

Knight historian, shaky grounds and Master Blaster trigger off most things in the army getting out of their tents, and prone drone is always eager to stand at attention. Siege party, psychosis railgun and Big Mouth are responsible for the early upkeep of the army's day, while putrid minion does his best work right before the battles. Then you attack, bringing more pain – which is appreciated both by Rakdos Commander himself and another one of his underlings, the Cryptborn Horror.

THE ADVANTAGE

Good supply lines are always important for army on the move. Resources can dwindle pretty fast (and most often, explosively). So there's Mystic Forge, often in the center of a camp. There's the pain wand, which can also shoot someone when needed. There's Morbid Curiosity to discipline a naughty soldier. Rakdos does look pretty dapper in drawer gloves, and general Liliana does much more than only drawing off your dead troops. And nothing is more beautiful than deploying a whole regiment of your army onto the battlefield for free, and then sending in the gray oracle. Also for free. Soviet anthem intensifies

But the supply lines not always must be conventional – Motherland's space program is also working quite well. This division is led by general Chandra and consists of lava communism, scary performances and meatball canons  .

THE REMOVAL

There's no friendly reclaiming of neighbor's lands without dropping some bombs on their heads.

How about sending dragon bomber with kind regards? Or maybe deploying Meteor Golem for free. You don't need no license to desintegrate something. And if they have artifacts of their own, winged smelter will gladly eat them – though he'll munch on some of yours just fine.

THE RAMP

[Insert capitalist 'Captain America on a chair' meme]

So, you've chosen a commander with a color-demanding casting cost?

Fret not, as there are many ways to fix this problem. Ping Ring   is probably the best mana rock the army carries around, providing both fixing and pinging/discount action. There's suicidal elk, manacopter, the sad robot and their friends. There's also a little cute mutt, the army's favourite mascot.

THE REST

Each army has some special techniques, some hidden aces. Or maybe some outliers. Here, Feldon does some reassembling, drawbridge quickens the pace of our troops, and the marketplace let's you have business with encountered people.

Then there's the hidden machine gun.

Don't worry, it's a janky one and needs several pieces to assemble. But when it does, it's death to all who oppose the Motherland.

It goes like this: first, Rakdos has to be on board, to personally oversee the process. He starts with one of the following: Cabal Paladin, Impact Tremors or Reckless Fireweaver. (Nettle Drone could work as well in some cases). Then Rakdos calls both Ancestral Statue and Guardians of Koilos, one sending the other back to tents so he may come back and send off the first one. Rinse and repeat until the Motherland's army is the only one around.

Soviet anthem gets silent in the distance
