The Fun Police - Commander

Commander / EDH Control WU (Azorius)

QGandalf

Maybeboard

Grand Arbiter was one of my first commanders. As I've played more and my collection has grown over the years, the deck's power level increased to the point where it was waaaaay beyond that of most of my playgroup. In short, the Fun Police was really unfun to play against. As such, I retired the deck: I play commander to have fun with my mates, not to torture them.

Anyway, this year I was encouraged to revisit the deck and find a middle ground between what the deck had been and what it became. My first playtest in a 5 player game recently proved a great success, with the deck remaining competitive without forcing my friends to just watch me play magic by myself for 90 mins. It's not a solid 99 yet, and surely will continue to change as WotC continues to make MtG, but I'm pretty happy with it as is.

Updates Add

Have re-jigged the deck to be built around Azor as the commander, with Grand Arbiter Augustin IV now relegated to the 99. Would like to add a couple more flicker effects to abuse his etb, but the Sphinx's Revelation attack trigger on him is wonderful, especially when coupled with Alhammaret's Archive. I also love that he is lethal in 3 hits with The Immortal Sun on the field.
