So, this is a deck that I'm really interested in. Atogatog is a weird, goofy Commander, and should not be seeing play at all, however, I saw The Flung King by DrukenReaps and was very impressed with how the cards worked together and fit to the build... but I thought I could improve and make it better.

This is basically an Aristocrats style deck, but can play as a Voltron deck for sure. The goal is to make Atogatog huge by sacrificing all of your things, and either flinging him at your opponents with Brion Stoutarm , Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord , and Rite of Consumption , things are made better with Stalking Vengeance in play. Additionally, there are some win condition cards in the deck to make things a little spicy... but aren't really a priority.

When we all in on sacrificing stuff after we have a decent mana supply (like 8 or 9 lands), we gotta be sure to have Faith's Reward or Second Sunrise in hand since we can only do it twice. We do have recursion with Muldrotha, the Gravetide and Sun Titan get us our cheap stuff back, but having the board presence with our enchantments and mainstay creatures will prove useful until we are ready to sac them.

Teysa Karlov is a powerhouse with her first ability for this deck, even though we won't get to see her token ability used. She triggers off of Stalking Vengeance , Sadbot , Wurmcoil Engine , Pitiless Plunderer , and Revel in Riches ... this brings us to our four Win Con categories.

So, we gotta win with Goatgoat . This is the Voltron-y part. With things like Berserk we can get to that point... but only one time. How can we ensure that damage is dealt to all parties? By throwing him when we are good and ready of course!

Bring in Brion and Jarad . These guys will throw our commander after he's gone in for combat and knocked someone out of the game.

Here's the line of play: Sacrifice Atogs to a minimum 11 power on Atogatog , cast Berserk on him, bash an open player for 21+ commander damage. Post combat, fling him at one opponent with Brion , or both opponents with Jarad . Afterwards, cast Second Sunrise or Faith's Reward if you have them to reset your board and do it again next turn. If we have Stalking Vengeance in play, we only need to do this one time, it effectively doubles the damage from Jarad .

The first time this is done will definitely draw attention to you, but you can't let that stop you. Hold up your removal spells and keep chugging until you can fling your boy again.

Starting things off, Revel in Riches : We don't really have much in board wipes aside from Blasphemous Act which is okay, we don't want to draw much attention to the enchantment... it's when we play something like Smothering Tithe or the Plunderer . We aren't trying to win with the combo, but its there nonetheless.
Next is Mayael's Aria : This is most attainable win in the deck if your board is full of creatures, and if you have Arcane Adaptation or Xenograft in play. Basically, once Aria's trigger goes on the stack in your upkeep, start sacrificing what you don't need to win to your Atogs, then sacrifice your Atogs to Big Boi until his power is 20 or greater. Its an all in, but that's what its like in this deck...
  • Combo: On your upkeep when the trigger goes on the stack with Atogatog in play, sacrifice 15+ power of Atogs (original or adapted ).
Finally, we have Barren Glory : Oooo-kay. So, here's where things get complicated. This is the most intricate part of the deck because you need several pieces in play to get the combo off. I'll split things up into "Sacrifice" Categories to make things a little easier-

-So these creatures all sacrifice each appropriate thing so that when the trigger goes onto the stack you can "Get There". The hard part of this is having Planeswalkers... this is fixed only with Enchanted Evening , I would put Mycosynth Lattice in if only it wasn't so darn pricey.

Depending on your board state in the game, you may have to jump through a few hoops if empty board is how you wanna win. If you need to get rid of creatures and you don't have Enchanted Evening , changing your creatures into Atogs may be your best option. This wincon is goofy and fun, only because its a "double-down, all-in, I-am-going-to-lose" strategy with your buddies. If things go great after you sac everything, awesome! If you end up having someone make you draw a card during your upkeep or bounce the one thing left to your hand, laugh it off and scoop up for the next one!

  • Combo: Use all of your sacrifice outlets and the power of Atogs to your advantage! Work it out like a puzzle and go all in for the win!

This deck was fun to make and play around with. The unexpected synergies with certain cards make for interesting strategies and fun gameplay! Let me know if there is something I could add/remove! I'm always looking to improve my decks!
