The God of Passage requires not only sacrifices from his cultists, he demands tribute from his enemies for those recently deceased. He sends his demonic minions, Archdemon of Greed  , Desecration Demon and Indulgent Tormentor, to make sure the job gets done.

If his minions fail him and all seems lost, Erebos, God of the Dead is always ready to defend his right to collect the souls of the sacrificed; by any means necessary.

This is a 75% deck - designed for kooky interactions and fun, casual play.

The deck does a great job of mitigating hate due to the vast number of low-cost, low-key creatures and the fact that if your opponents want something to stay dead, it will cost them you 3 life. Paying 3 life may not seem like a lot in EDH; but keep coming at me and it becomes quite taxing.

This strategy allows me to build and sacrifice my precious cultists at my leisure and picking which opponent to tax.

Fun combos:

False Prophet is a great political play; choosing which player to levy is way fun.

Death Cultist + Xathrid Necromancer (paired with Athreos) Becomes a potential 4 lifeloss, 1 lifegain and 2/2 zombie; at the very least 1 lifeloss, 1 gain and 2/2 zombie and I get to play it again. Awesomely synergistic combo off of a one-drop.

Athreos, God of Passage + Doomed Necromancer : His most devoted subjects are born with a purpose.

Blood Artist + Dark Prophecy - How about you take that life loss instead; I'll draw now.

King Macar, the Gold-Cursed plays nicely with Skirsdag High Priest and Devout Chaplain.

Ravenous Demon + Thraben Doomsayer : A delectable human engine, approved by the Archdemon of Greed  .

Athreos, God of Passage + Blood Artist + Killing Wave Can be absolutely devastating to the board-state. The best part: I choose to let all my creatures die first; then in turn order everyone does same. After the life is paid and the dust settles, it's Athreos' turn to collect and take advantage of his recently drained opponents.

Athreos, God of Passage + Erebos, God of the Dead : Together, the masters of the Underworld reveal how precious life can be.
