The Esper Control





White , black and blue .

Order, pain and some gimmicks.

I love this deck. It's like a daughter to me, so please be kind in commenting.

Down to the bottom, this is an average Esper draw-go//full-control build. I rarely ever intend doing anything during my turn, except when I really can protect my win-cons and pull it to killing my opponent.There are three main killcons here:

  1. Celestial Colonnade slamming for 4 every turn after 7.
  2. Elspeth, Sun's Champion going for ult and then bashing with all the tokens. This doesn't happens very often, but when it does is usually gg.

I've been working on this for a while and this list is the product of months of testing and being raped in my local FNM. I'm finally comfortable with it, so I hope it works better this week. hahaha

Update: No, it doesn't. But I still love it anyway.

Esper is sweet. I think your main deck looks pretty legit. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the 1 tasigur. With you having such a low creature count it most likely going to die to the stranded removal In your opponent's hands (depending on the matchup). I think esper adds such an awesome card Anguished Unmaking which I think you should find room for maybe two in te 75. Maybe trade a d-sphere for one in the main and maybe a exchange celestial purge in the side. But that's just me. Also with all your 1 drop artifacts you could maybe shave a pitching needle for a trinket mage and that would be like having two of each of the artifacts because the mage acts like a second copy of all of them. :) I have done that before with my UW list. Then you could add an engineered explosives too one day.

Other than that it looks like a solid list :)

Nice deck!

I would cut 1 Snapcaster Mage.

Most of the decks that run him as a 4 of only run him like that to abuse Lightning Bolt.

Detention Sphere is a good card but it is susceptible to Abrupt Decay. The choice of this card is very meta dependent.

I would also add 4 Cryptic Command.

Cryptic Command provides a lot of versatility and flexibility. it also allows you to bounce your Snapcaster Mages for repeated cryptic use. (play cryptic, bounce snappy, flashback cryptic, bounce snappy, then use snappy again).

Esper Charm is one of the main reasons to play esper. I would run 4.

you should probably also add 1 more land.

also, why no Sphinx's Revelation?

Overall this deck looks very solid.

This is a cool esper control list.

Between yours and mine I play much more on my opponents turn why I run the secure the wastes, spells quellers, and gearhulk. This version seems pretty strong and detention sphere is in a strong spot with jund and abzan seeing less play. I personally don't think that blessed alliance isn't needed in the main (but 2 for side is amazing) and instead maybe increase by 1 land and maybe a 1 of secure. that card catches people very well.
