LGS has a weekly standard day, but, because of Spring Break, no one was in town. So, I met up with some friends played some friendly matches against Bant Company and hung out, not a bad day.
Game 1 on the play.
I mull to six and I'm able to build up a small contingent of beast caller savants and elvish visionaries. He is able to Reflector Mage my Sylvan Advocate and he gets a two CoCos off, a really good game for him. Swinging in with 3 Advocates and a 9/9 Lumbering Falls is a tough answer.
Game 2 on the play
I keep my seven, this looks more promising with an Atarka's Command and some ramp into Mina and Denn. Now, what I've noticed is that Mina and Denn under perform quite a bit with so few lands, I'm thinking about shaving Mina and Denn for another Nissa and the last CoCo. Thoughts?
Anyways, I'm able to draw into my swarm cards, Savants, Advocates, and Visionaries. Really build a force and put pressure on him, he's not able to draw into his threats or CoCo. I play a Shaman of the Pack for 5 and get him down to 6 or so, finish him off with Atarka's Command before combat damage.
Game 3 on the draw
Keep a good 6 with a sweet scry, I have two Atarka's Commands from Go. He does not draw into lands, he's on three most of the game while I'm swinging in with Advocates and Savants. I finish him off with the double Command to deal 6 and +2/+2.
I also played against his half built Modern Jund deck. I hung in there and he did so much damage with Shocklands and Dark Confidant that I CoCo'd into 2 Shaman of the packs for 4 and then Atarka's Command to the face.
