So, I realized that out of all my decks, there was really only one control deck. And I decided it was time to even that out a bit. I needed something more reactive than I'm used to, but not boring to play. All of the blue control generals seemed really uninteresting, and didn't have any particularly interesting flavor behind them. Meanwhile I discovered a number of really neat white control cards were coming out of Jor Kadeen in favor of a little more aggression. So after a little digging around in white I came across Sifu Eight-Point-Five. He had a couple of unique abilities that lend themselves really well to reactive control, and after checking the common lists, doesn't seem to be usually built that way. He's mildly themed around the tenets of Buddhism, and as such doesn't often attack other players. The deck is quite good at playing peacekeeper for the entire pod. The most challenging thing for this deck to do is actually win, as such it often winds up "playing for second". This was recently solved by a small package consisting of Barren Glory, Renounce/Claws of Gix, and Resilient Wanderer/Tireless Tribe, but the deck doesn't focus too hard on it. I've actually won a game with the combo twice. This is very rare, but I've never been irrelevant in a game. Usually, even if the deck is lagging behind a bit, the pod will still warp around me, so it keeps games interesting.
