Stagnation is the theme of this deck. After countering pesky planeswalkers and anything really and board-wiping everything else while my creatures remain alive, what can you do? After all im just buying time.

  The Cards

Do I really need to? I mean look at this

 Lands

Just kidding

 Instants

Scatter to the Winds - Honestly the best Counterspell in the rotation. Doubles as a way to get the damage in late game

Cancel - A better choice over Spell Shrivel since my strategy is to stall into the late game, which means they'll have the mana to pay the

Murderous Cut - for things that slip through the cracks and thinning my graveyard to abuse The Dude to the max

Silumgar's Command - Even though this is for a whopping 5 mana its pretty dang good. at its worst, counter/bounce, for 5 mana, sure why not.

Dig Through Time - Makes use of my graveyard to literally take a shovel and dig through my deck for more counters, wipes, or finishers

Anticipate - Baby version of dig

  Soceries

Despise - It's not Thoughtseize but I'll take it

Languish - Can I regret trading away my foil any more? I mean come on. It only kills my awakened lands. oh darn.

Crux of Fate - Leaves my dragon alive and kills your dudes. Or my dude alive and kills your dragons. or my colorless Cthulhu dude.

 The Enchantment

Demonic Pact - Bounced to my hand via Silumgar's Command mode 2. Just really helps maintain true control. all the modes (except obviously numero 4) just support everything really nicely

 The Dude

Tasigur, the Golden Fang - He gets back a counter, a dig, a wipe, need I say more?

 The Demon

Ob Nixilis Reignited - This guy is amazing really. Helps me maintain control in every test I've tried both with draw and kill power. Draws attention but most demons are like that and ill except a pact with this ex-human

 The Cthulhu

Sire of Stagnation - This speaks loudly and carries a big stick. And looks scary.

 The Sideboard

Silumgar, the Drifting Death - Hexproof. Big toughness. basically near impossible to kill. Pure, sweeping, death really. Was originally in place of the demon and against heavy removal he returns but Ob works better to maintain true power

Negate - really amazing against control and is less of a dead card in hand than Dispel

Duress - Sometimes their things are scarier than their dudes

Deadly Wanderings - Sided in for match-up where the extra life-gain in the late-game is necessary for survival

Displacement Wave - tried it main board but honestly wasn't necessary 80% of the time but it still has a home here for pesky tokens and honestly works really well against coco forcing them to recast what they cheated in

Encase in Ice - Purely against my roughest match-up which is mono-red. Locking down a Monastery Swiftpear is even worth it to save the life it'll be swinging

Whelp. Didn't do so well guys overall 1-2-1

Game 1: Mono Red 0-2. Same Player who tromped me on friday and didn't really see anything boarded in. As mono red is my polar opposite I kind of expected it to be rough but not seeing Encase in Ice or Languish game two gave him little resistance

Game 2: Jeskai Dark 0-2. I was really curious about this match-up and didn't really know how to play it. Bad decisions and no real board options against tempo that this is just gave him enough advantage to push the damage through. I would've had game 1 but I misplayed on his Tasigur activation coupled with double Mantis Rider and counters in his hand I just couldn't recover. Bad draws were my downfall game 2 hitting 7 lands in a row

Game 3: B/W Drain 2-1. Same guy as friday as well game 1 is close and he got by the skin of his teeth but after sides he just can't really handle Silumgar, the Drifting Death. Game 2 was smooth for him but my deck outperformed. Game 3 he drew all removal with only Silumgar on the field so no targets

Game 4: G/B Aristocrats. Gal had a great deck and neither of has had much board presence game 1. At 3 life for her and only 18 cards in my library she took game 1 after forever. Game 2 we hit time on the round after a similar situation but Silumgar came in and won on turn 3 of 5 turn rule. Game 3 automatic draw. Don't really know what to do here in this match-up

Overall I had fun but I've come to the conclusion that the deck is missing a versatile option for a 2-drop counter better than Horribly Awry main with Disdainful Stroke side, although that combination could be balance if black or blue had a solid 3 drop sweeper.

I'm gonna keep this deck assembled in the hopes that something comes with the next set but I'm gonna play some different things in the coming weeks. The deck's good, its just not quite up to par with the faster decks and really needs that 3 drop sweep. maybe splash red for Radiant Flames but I'm kind of attached to the U/B color scheme for this deck. I think for next week I'm gonna revamp my Grixis Dragons Silumghan? Kolagar? I ship it deck. I also have this janky idea for turbofog but ill playtest proxies before i put anything up. I don't have the Jaces anymore but I'll make do with what I've got
