it's not a badidea but instead of llanowar wast put maybe more an overgrown tomb it's faster and you may put woodland cemetery without a problem :)

and if you go in green why don't you putt a lotleth troll, it's a funny game with gravecrawler and sitherhead :)

Oh, this is going to be fun. I just have to wait for the Bloodghast to come in though. I've kept Stromgald Crusader in the deck for now and it's really fun to play. I seem to get a decent amount of land draws, so that is a plus.

I like your build here, maybe consider 2x or 3x Twilight Mire since you might not always want to pay the 2 life for Overgrown Tomb to come in untapped and you can change a black mana to green if you need. They're rare situations but when they do help they can save you some health and let you drop both Abrupt Decay and Lotleth Troll even if it's your only source of green mana.

Twilight Mire is definitely better. Alas, i have only so much expendable cash lol. I have 1 i can throw in but i don't want to but a playset :P

Lands like Twilight Mire are typically best when you run 2 to 3 anyway since running a playset runs a large risk of drawing into multiple of them and not being able to create colored mana so running one for now can work just fine and if you happen to find another it would make a good two-of.

Love this deck! +1 of course. I'd probably run a few of the Cavern of Souls mainboard (just to open up a little sideboard room); but other than that I can't think of anything I'd change. Great deck!

CurdBrosBrewingCo - Thanks for the comment! Would you put them in inplace of a nykthos or swamp ? Do you have any suggestions for some sideboard cards ?

March 19, 2014 10:34 p.m.

Probly just 2-3 swamps (depending how many you want main board). I'll look at the SB now and see if I can think of anything. The deck is Super good as-is!

I keep forgetting its any color so it won't interfere with my mana. maybe ill jist mainland all 4x of them in just cause.

I mean, if it were me; I'd main deck all. 4...I just didn't want to go too crazy on you :). I run 20 lands in my Eld Devotion deck and still run 4 main-deck.

A few sideboard cards I thought of are:

  1. Nature's Claim - this gives you instant speed removal of Grafdigger's Cage , Relic of Progenitus , Blood Moon , and other pesky artifacts/enchantments that can screw up your game plan. This will also allow you to destroy Birthing Pod and makes Affinity a much tougher match up.

  2. Thoughtseize can be put in any black sideboard as its GREAT against any sand all combo decks on game two.

  3. Defense Grid can be added if control and or heavy disruption decks seem to be a problem; but in your case this probably isn't necessary (given the fact that several of your creatures come back and you already run four Caverns)...so maybe not this one :)

  4. Spellskite is an all-time great sideboard card. Shuts of Twin ans a few other " infinite" creature combos, saves your creatures from bolts and paths ...it has TONS of uses in Modern.

  5. Choke is crazy good if you have problems with Storm , Control, Merfolk, or any other deck with heavy blue . This basically cripples them for several turns .

This is all I have right now ; but I'll think if more. If you have real problems with Affinity ( its super popular right now ) you can also add 1-2 Creeping Corrosion . There are other great options; but its helpful to know which matchups are the worst for the ECM; and then focus the sideboard a little more for those. Do you know yet which matchups tend to be the worst?

Anywho; I hope this helped somewhat. I haven't tested the deck; so I wouldn't aim to know much...and you'll have a much better grasp than me; but these are just some ideas for you . Good luck and great deck!

Sorry, should have "suggested" them to make it easier: Nature's Claim , Thoughtseize , Choke , Spellskite , Creeping Corrosion . Hope this helps!

I was actually thinking about running Thoughtseize instead of Stromgald and Inquisition of Kozilek instead of abrupt decay.

Thanks a lot for the comment CurdBrosBrewingCo. I'm not sure which of the brothers helped or answered but thank you to you both :P. This deck has had really good results at my local FNM. I've only ran into problems with red burn decks when they get their perfect draw. Not much you can do against straight damage, it's just a race at that point.

I really think that Spellskite will solve our problems
