Sideboard

Trying a mono-black hand disruption deck.

The goal: Turn 1 Thoughtseize, Turn 2 Waste Not, Turn 3 Dark Deal + Anything that can be casted by gaining mana from opponents discard (hopefully Master of the Feast). So far the deck has been great and I am taking any suggestions!

The cards:

Removal:

Murderous Cut - Delve works really well in this deck because of the high use of 1 mana spells that fill up the graveyard + the discard theme.

Hero's Downfall - Pretty much goes without saying takes care of any creature + planeswalkers

Bile Blight - Decent removal. This one is being considered to being sideboarded. It has the nice clause that makes it target all creatures with the same name as target creature. So any tokens theme can be taken care of or any repetitive creature themes (Den Protector, Deathmist Raptor, etc.)

Creatures:

Master of the Feast - He's a flying 4 turn clock that can be cast on turn 3, that by itself is really amazing. Also, his draw clause usually is a downside; however, in hand disruption it works perfectly. If by turn 4 I can Dark Deal, that's one extra card I will be discarding from my opponents hand. MVP creature of this deck

Risen Executioner - Zombie lord that's buffing my tokens up extremely well. He can be recast from the graveyard for 1 colorless for each creature already in the graveyard (not many). He is a really good creature, just wish he could block.

Gurmag Angler - Delve. 5/5. Zombie Fish. Get him out with Risen Executioner and he is a 6/6 for hopefully 1 or 2 mana. Really overwhelming on the board for some opponents.

Hand disruption:

Waste Not - The enchantment that pulls this deck together. Absolutely crazy abilities that makes hand disruption much more fun. If I can get 2 out there, and pull off a Dark Deal, I almost cannot lose.

Dark Deal - The MVP to this deck. If I can turn 3 this after a Waste Not, there are many possibilities that can be overwhelm the board. Either get a lot of zombie tokens, draw many cards, and/or get a lot of mana to cast Risen Executioner from the graveyard or new hand. It really puts the opponent at a disadvantage when I have a much larger hand than them in a hand disruption deck.

Thoughtseize - Great turn 1 play. If I see my plan working out (as in I'm going to get my turn 2 and 3), then I either disrupt the earliest creature play or a Reclamation Sage or something that would ruin that. It also sets up another possible Duress or Despise.

Despise - It's honestly great just to know your opponent's hand, plus to discard a creature? A viable turn 1 play if Thoughtseize isn't there.

Duress - I don't know how I feel about this spell. I understand that all spells are best during their desired situations, but this one is just too situational if you ask me. Not bad on turn 1 but I'd much rather Despise or Thoughtseize. Works well in turn 2 after a Thoughtseize from turn 1. Not really great in turn 3 because I'd rather be casting Master of the Feast or pulling off the Dark Deal combo. And then it's just kind of silly to pull in the late game when you'd much rather pull a creature or piece of removal. I guess Despise and Thoughtseize aren't as great late game but I'd be happier pulling one of those than a Duress. May be sideboarded if I can find a better option.

Rakshasa's Secret - If I cannot turn 3 Dark Deal, this is the next best thing. Having an opponent choose what they are going to discard on turn 3 is very interesting. Milling 2 also helps delve out a lot and get's the chance to get Risen Executioner into my graveyard.

Sideboard:

Archfiend of Depravity - Controls the board state against wide board decks that can make it that far.

Crux of Fate - Partial board wipe, a way to fight a dragons deck.

Foul-Tongue Invocation - Removal

Stain the Mind - Not sure what I really think of this card. It helps immensely against Den Protector and other wincons. I get to see the opponent's hand also, so that is a plus for hand disruption.

Let me know what you think about the deck and if you have any suggestions for it! Possibly looking to splash another color (blue)!
