also Citanul Woodreaders is a decent one

I'll consider Gush, Citanul Woodreaders, and Treasure Cruise. I literally just took out Mind Stone for Commander's Sphere because it taps for colored mana and cracks for free.

Alko897- Instead of having a legendary creature as your commander, you pick an uncommon creature and build a deck around it using only commons, as I have done here.

This is a very nice idea for the deck, but it can see some improvements.

If your deck mostly relies on your commander, you must get some more protection for it for it. I would consider putting in things like Spider Umbra and Eel Umbra. They don't draw cards but they fight against all removal.

And you can never have enough counterspells, there is Dispel, also, Spell Rupture is great here and Turn Aside too.

Otherwise this deck is really cool and i'll try playing it, good work, +1 given :D

markooosrbija, If you're going to build the deck, it'd be cool if you could get back to me with your thoughts and suggestions.

Artful Dodge and Distortion Strike Are good for getting your commander through :-)

endersblade- I already use Distortion Strike, but I'll take Artful Dodge into consideration.

Is there a place to find the rules for Pauper commander? Also, why is the commander an uncommon?

Apologies for not giving a suggestion.

DoritoDust007 says... #13

The_Ninjurai - In the rules of PDH deckbuilding, your commander must be either a common or an uncommon (as I have demonstrated above).

Sounds cool. Thanks TheTindell179!

Would Contradict be good here?

Too high of a mana cost. If I'm going to invest that much in a counterspell, it better do a bit more than just draw me a card. That's why I run Rewind.

I love edh and I'm just getting into pauper (EDH is too expensive :/). Pauper EDH seems interesting but I've always despised the idea of having 100 shitty cards in a deck. After looking at your list, it seems pretty solid and if I may say inspirational. I am unfamiliar with the staples in Pauper EDH so I am sorry but I am unable to assist you.

Regardless, +1 from me, the gentleman you have inspired. Cheers!

Profet93- If it tells ya anything, this thing can go head to head with non-pauper commander decks and win. I don't really think any of the cards in here are crappy. Situational, yes. But not crappy lol. Anyways thanks for the comment and upvote!

I think that Simic Signet is an auto-include.

DoritoDust007 says... #19

flipnation- I use the cluestone because it nets the same amount of mana as the signet, plus it can crack itself for a card if need be.

Wait but this isn't a legendary creature.

December 9, 2016 11:39 a.m.

DoritoDust007 says... #21

pokejerk20- Pauper EDH is a variant of commander where you select an uncommon creature and build a deck around it using only commons, as I have demonstrated above.

Fun idea for a pauper general! I never thought of using Lorescale Coatl. Mystic Remora could be a good draw engine for a little while. A few more ways to make Lorescale evasive or have trample might not hurt. Leap or Cloak of Feathers are some other cantrip evasion spells. Aqueous Form, Cloak of Mists, or even Traveler's Cloak could be considered too. Reckless Scholar is another solid looter. Lignify is a good creature answer, which Simic lacks, especially in pauper. Wow, I put down more cards than I thought I would. Hope it sparks some ideas!

Flux and Whirlpool Rider can pump your commander a ton. I don't like Invisibility at all. Rush of Knowledge is a notable exclusion, along with Compulsive Research Sea Gate Oracle and some big creature threats, say Ulamog's Crusher or Oakgnarl Warrior. I also like Petals of Insight. You're playing Archaeomancer, but not its Wall friend? Ranger's Path is a nice 2-for-1 ramp spell.

I second the Mystic Remora Suggestion. That card is already powerful, but its synergy with Lorescale Coatl makes it even better.

I've started working on my own PDH deck. You can find it here if you want to take a look.
