"...is written with strokes of sudden blood."
Welcome to another deck of mine, this time, a Mono-Red deck for Standard. Red is my absolute favorite color to play, so I always have a Mono-Red deck on hand somewhere.
Breakdown:
Creatures:
Monastery Swiftspear is a goddess among goblins here. She's easily the best red non-rare creature since young pyromaster, and the best red aggro creature for sure. She's got haste, potential to grow, and dat booty.
Goblin Rabblemaster
is a brick freaking house. "Let me just step right in and spit out 1/1's for days, also I'll be getting bigger for each one of them." Yeah... That's value.
Foundry Street Denizen is an obvious inclusion in a deck that pops a ton of red creatures. He embodies the "Alpha Strike" mentality, by getting bigger with each ally he gains. Also, he is a goblin, so that's a thing.
Frenzied Goblin. If that name doesn't say it all... Lets break it down. Frenzied - meaning he'll prevent a blocker from hating us when he attacks. Goblin. He's a goblin... there's a theme here. Are you even paying attention...?
Fanatic of Mogis? More like Fantastic of Mogis. This guy is a decent body with a kick to the opponent's face when he enters like "Walk up in the club like 'What's up? You just took six damage'."
Purphoros, God of the Forge just enables burnouts. "I play
Hordeling Outburst
. I get three goblins. Oh and uh, you take six... sorry!" Also, mana sinks are never a bad thing. Oh, and uh, he's a 6/5.
Stormbreath Dragon sits at the top of the curve. For real though, I don't even get opportunities to play this guy that much. Fantastic creature, though.
Enchantments:
Oh boy, a long list here!
Hammerhand is the perfect mono-red enchantment. It costs one red to hasten combat AND pump a dude AND tell a blocker to take a hike. That's value. Also, it's name is HAMMERHAND. Hammer pants.
Instants/Sorceries:
Stoke the Flames
is a $5 or so uncommon. So there's that. Considering the troops that I can bring up in this deck, I can often just cast it for four Goblins. Did I mention there are Goblins in this deck? I might have forgot.
Magma Jet
says I can deal two damage AND look at my next two cards for two mana? Uh, okay, thanks!
Hordeling Outburst
? Why the hell is this in here? What the **** do I want to make three 1/1 goblins for? There are goblins in this deck? You're freaking kidding me...
Chandra says hi.
Chandra, Pyromaster
is such red, much good. Deal a little damage and kick a blocker to the curb? Sure! Want a free card on this turn? YES. Copy Stoke the Flames three times for free? WHY THE **** NOT!
Mountain, Mountain, Mountain, Mountain rockin' ever'where.
Sideboard:
Lightning Strike is three damage for two, but I wish it were Lightning Bolt.
Titan's Strength is so good aggressively. +3/+1 AND look at my next card? For one mana? Yeah, I'll do that.
Flamewake Phoenix
is
Chandra's Phoenix
remixed?
Ashcloud Phoenix
is just like, "Hey, I'm here now... Kill me and I'll just come back to Shock everyone at the same time." Insert bad "Rise from the ashes" pun here
Eidolon of the Great Revel, because I know you didn't want to play any of those counterspells anyway...
Anyway, thanks for reading and such. This is my red deck that completely ignores the potential existence of goblins as a thing... clears throat +1's and comments are appreciated!
