Welcome to my rendition of Lazav, Dimir Mastermind EDH! So why reference Silence of the Lambs you may be asking? Well that's because Lazav loves to kill things and then wear their skin, much like Buffalo Bill. Although, Lazav doesn't care if you're a woman or how you ended up dead he will copy their looks just the same. The best way to utilize his ability is through mill, removal, and counters.

But I thought mill is horrible in EDH!

Of course it is, if that is the only wincon. We mill for secondary effects i.e. Lazav's ability, Guiltfeeder, Consuming Aberration, ect. you get the point. The creatures included here synergize well on your opponent's fat graveyards. I've also included a small reanimator package to take advantage of the goodies in everyone's yards.

But the Eldrazi makes milling pointless!

Yes, and no. This deck doesn't really care if we hit an Eldrazi or two. In fact, we enjoy seeing them hit the yard! Why's that? Because having Lazav copy Kozilek, Butcher of Truth yet retain his hexproof makes for huge beats that is hard to kill. Bloodchief Ascension doesn't really care if they shuffle their GY into their library either. Also, there are instant speed removal abilities ( Withered Wretch /Dimir Doppelganger/ect.) that can be used in response to the GY trigger.

Strategy:

Step 1: Dig a pit for your opponents

We may start off a bit slower then say voltron or other aggro decks. This is because we want something to start the milling process like Mesmeric Orb which is probably the best 2 drop this deck could ever hope for. Here we try to get the colors lined up for Lazav.

Step 2: Lower a basket into the pit

Now hopefully by turn 4 Lazav is out, but his skin might be feeling a bit dry. Perhaps if it rubs some lotion on its skin and use targeted kill spells or counters he can copy something useful. There are other clones which can also target critters in GY's to copy or to remove. We don't want the hose again...

Step 3: IT PUTS THE LOTION IN THE BASKET!

Hopefully at this point we are milling through most people's decks picking out the biggest bombs. Here we either mill them out or beat them down, or both.
