I'm worried about your mana curve, it seems really high, and like you might be struggling.

I also don't know how useful Cathedral of War will be, as you have no Exalted creatures beyond Sublime Archangel , and it comes into play tapped.

If I were you, I'd bump up your creatures/artifacts to 3 ofs and 4 ofs to increase consistency, especially Herald of War , since I'm assuming thats a big part of your fix to the mana curve problem.

I'd also ditch the Evolving Wilds . its super useful if you're splashing another color, but with mono-white you're probably better off just putting plains in its stead, since you can use them right away.

Also, just fyi, this isn't a control deck. You aren't controlling your opponent- tapping their lands/permanents and the likes.

not sure if you will ever manage to actually drop that serra avatar mate,maybe put in some more manafixers, Palladium Myr could really help you out,maybe add another gilded lotus as well

Thanks for the tips. I'm still a little bit of a noob at MTG, as I just started recently w/ my husband and some friends (who are definitely not noobs).

I think you might be right about the Evolving Wilds , as well as the Cathedral of War . I think I will drop those and give it another shot. Also might add another Herald of War , as per your suggestion, and see how this plays out.

And thanks about the name thing. I am a crazy cat lady ;)

Great start and I agree with "musefreak", drop some of the non-basic land but you could try "Cavern of souls" if you are trying a theme deck. "Rhox Faithmender" also may help if you are attempting life gain

I would back off on the miracle sub-theme. You have an aggro deck of high-cost (that is, above CMC 3) creatures. Terminus and Banishing Stroke are awesome cards, but not in this deck - you don't have library manipulation, and Avacyn's ability won't protect against being put at the bottom of the library. I'd suggest switching out the Terminus es with Divine Reckoning s - That'll allow you to control the board, killing all but your best creature... until Avacyn hits, then it kills all but their best creature.

Your curve is terrible. You need more 1 and 2 drops, especially mana. Pristine Talisman helps with both the mana and life gain theme.

You'll need something to draw cards as well. You currently have 12 of 21 creatures with 2 or less power, so Mentor of the Meek could work. There's also Otherworld Atlas and Infiltration Lens that could work as repeatable card advantage

I'm not a massive fan of Serra Avatar : it's very expensive for a creature that can be blocked by a token. Now, if you had Rancor or Fling in your deck, that would be different, but without, it's just not that good.

card:Victory's Herald, Rhox Faithmender are couple of substitutes that spring to mind.
