a bunch of rna nonsense —Feb. 13, 2019

A lot of changes here. Unsure how many will stick. I think this is the deck that I probably make the most frequent changes to, and there are still a bunch of other cards I got that I want to test out.

-Swords to Plowshares - As always, I don't love spot removal in this deck due to it being able to exile things with Teysa. Teysa isn't always active though, so meh.

-Oketra's Monument - I like the card a lot, but it does need fuel. I don't actually have that many creatures this reduces the cost of (around 10-15), since many just cost 1-2 mana.

-Prismatic Lens - colorless mana is a little awkward. Feels bad to be cutting ramp though.

-Everflowing Chalice - as above.

-Coercive Portal - love the card, but backfires explosively if I'm doing too well. If it were unconditional, would be much better. Cutting for faster draw that is a bit less of a target.

-Return to Dust - pseudo-sorcery speed is always awkward.

-Karmic Justice - may come back if I find my things dying. Awkward in that it rarely triggers when it's doing its job.

-Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim - cutting, but may return. Doesn't gain that much life due to my creatures being small, while costing mana to activate is awkward. I do like the deathtouch body though...

-Thalia's Lancers - sweet card, but a bit expensive.

-Magister of Worth - I've been running it as a wrath that can be reanimated, but I'm pretty light on reanimation at the moment.

-Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle - again, I like the card, and it may return, but I don't have a ton of historic spells (or consistently dead value creatures).

-Lena, Selfless Champion - sweet card, but a bit expensive.

-Ghost Quarter - the mana curve is pretty tight, so going down a land hurts. Feels a little awkward to have no spot removal for lands available, but I can't even think of the last time I activated it.

+Syphon Mind - testing. Seems good on paper (draw three cards + opponents discard a card), but we'll see how it actually does...

+Crush Contraband - replacing Return to Dust. May find myself wanting more noncreature removal though - RtD has always been a bit over-taxed.

+Ethereal Absolution - testing. It does a lot of things, all of them good. On the other hand, this deck can never beat it if it is stolen, so may backfire. >.>

+Smothering Tithe - most hyped card from RNA (for EDH, at least). Seems good, since white is pretty bad at mana production.

+Spawning Pit - testing. Sac outlet + token producer seems like a decent combination.

+Soul's Attendant - testing. I'm already running Soul Warden, but I want to try out running more lifegain so I can stretch my life-for-card-draw cards further.

+Boreas Charger - testing. Land ramp is much better than artifact ramp, and this deck can have difficulty hitting land drops.

+Kambal, Consul of Allocation - testing. As above, I've wanted to run a bit more lifegain. This deck is also terrible against any sort of noncreature-based archetypes (enchantress, storm, etc), so nice to have a bit more hate for them.

+Gonti, Lord of Luxury - testing. It's mostly here as a value creature - I don't have a ton of ways to recur it, but getting access to stuff from other decks seems decent.

+Priest of Forgotten Gods - has a pretty high cost to activate (2 creatures + sacrifice), but the payoff is pretty huge.

+Midnight Reaper - as mentioned above, I want to run a few more life-total-as-a-resource cards. Converting bodies into draw seems good.

+Teysa Karlov - <3. Unsure exactly how much value I'll get out of her, but she's quite powerful. Incidental token buffing is also not irrelevant.

+Vault of the Archangel - testing. This deck can have difficulties with large creatures (especially ones with trample), so being able to give my board deathtouch on demand is pretty significant. Alternatively, incidental lifegain.
