cats hate people? —Sept. 2, 2017

C17 is out, and with it comes a few changes. I'm not at all certain of any of the changes, I think they're worth testing.

-Suture Priest - it feels weird (and possibly wrong) to cut this, but I've noticed two things about Suture Priest: it doesn't contribute to me winning, and it attracts a massive amount of hate. It certainly adds up over time, but most of my wins are either from combo or from a massive number of death triggers, so making my opponents lose a little incidental life doesn't do as much. On the other hand, the incidental life gain is often pretty relevant, so may come back for that. Maybe I should just add Soul Warden / Auriok Champion?

-Spirit Bonds - the deck doesn't generate nearly as much mana as I would like, and this effectively makes my creatures add W more, which adds up. I do like the flying tokens, but it's a little less efficient than I would like. Planning to hunt down an Oketra's Monument sometime though.

-Phyrexian Reclamation - also feels weird to cut. I'm not a big fan of needing to pay mana + life, and it's dead when I don't have anything in my graveyard.

-2 Swamp

+Leonin Arbiter - I've been wanting to include more hate in my decks. This deck really dislikes green decks with piles of ramp, so this will hopefully slow them down a bit. I don't have that many tutors in here, but will need to do some testing to determine how effective it is.

+Sword of the Animist - ramp is good, and this can fetch out a lot of basics - something Orzhov usually doesn't have access to.

+Alms Collector - testing. I don't love the card, since I believe most card draw in the format is incidental - people are more likely to draw a single extra card ten times than ten extra cards one time. Still, unlike Notion Thief, they still get to draw a card (instead of zero), so it may take effect more often.

+Command Tower - gold standard for lands. I've noticed Teysa has a lot of problem with colors due to heavy color weights, so every bit helps.

+Path of Ancestry - similar story here. Entering tapped is a pain, but I'm running a decent number of humans (and advisors?), so a little filtering should be useful.
