slimming down, speeding up —Sept. 2, 2016

Adding a few cards from EMA. Had an awkward game recently where I drew most of my topend, and couldn't cast multiple spells per turn for a very long time. Felt especially awkward sitting across from two green decks sitting with access to 20+ mana that still couldn't dump their entire hands - I was able to control to board fairly well, but I couldn't advance my own. So, decided to cut a few cards that I felt weren't earning their spot, and adding in some new things to test.

-Emeria Shepherd - the BCS of this card is absolutely amazing - you can reanimate all your creatures and enchantments. Unfortunately, I think it's too big of a target to stick around for long, and triggering landfall consistently is difficult. Wanted to actually play with it more before I cut it, but such is life. Perhaps if I ever make a Karametra deck.

-Ashen Rider - again, hitting 8 mana is hard. This deck doesn't usually reanimate things quickly, and recurring it is also difficult, which means it functions as a fancy Reclamation Sage. Not quite what I want to be spending 8 mana on.

-Avatar of Woe - no synergies with tapping, and expensive. I think it's just too slow.

-Merciless Executioner - I've been increasingly underwhelmed by single-shot sacrifice effects. People usually have a low-impact creature laying around to sacrifice.

+Sengir Autocrat - extremely efficient token generation. Potentially 8 bodies for 4 mana, plus it's a human.

+Animate Dead - one of the best reanimation spells, plus it can target a creature in any graveyard. Synergies with Sun Titan and Twilight Shepherd too.

+Eight-and-a-Half-Tails - testing. Don't know if I'll have enough mana to fully take advantage, but being able to shut down spot removal (for all my permanents!) seems sweet.

+Prismatic Lens - it's a weak mana rock, but it is a rock. Also, I'm playing every better rock I own already. x.x I think my goal is to bring the number of rocks in all my nongreen decks up to 6-8.
