Altar of Dementia seems like a solid include, and not sure what the synergy with Academy Rector is due to it exiling itself. Getting Survival seems strong, but other tutors are just more versatile.

Also, I'd advise making the music not auto-play when opening the page, or at least turning down the volume. It was quite loud.

Your foil Survival of the Fittest looks sweet, dude! Your old one has found a very comfortable new home in my Ghave deck!

I'll second that about the music. It was super loud and took me a minute to find where it was coming from.

@ Cloudius Haha thanks for stopping by again buddy! Just a couple more and I am finish! Can't wait to see what else you do with your Yennett deck!

@ ThoAlmighty I'll keep that in mind! Unfortunately I don't know how to lower the volume of the music so I guess I'll just turn it off haha. In regards to Altar of Dementia , I used to run it in here but it never was enough when I am going fast combo route, it only obtainable through my tutors unless I draw into it, and it's not my number one tutor target as well for a sac outlet.

For Academy Rector it is actually two fold, the first and foremost reason is to go with protected Protean Hulk line in conjunction with Grand Abolisher with a sac out let on the field as it grabs me my reanimation enchantments. The next other reason is for it to grab Necropotence for the burst refill or Sylvan Library / Survival of the Fittest .

@ Abzkaban Yessir it is a beauty! I need to take a better picture once I get a better camera but for now it will do xD Make sure you kick butt with the Survival in your deck, its been in mines for 4 years!

Catapillar over Leave No Trace ? Unless your meta is riddled with plural rest in peaces or leylines of the void I generally find the catapillar to be better. That being said this deck is very finely tuned and my own real question is why Teneb over the partner options?

Kaleo42: probably because its a reanimator deck, and Teneb reanimates stuff. none of the "partner" commanders reanimate anything.

PlatinumOne this deck runs more than enough reanimator pieces that it doesn’t need a 6cmc creature with a specific condition ability to reanimate a creature. I have seen extremely similar lists do very well in my local meta but they use Tymna the Weaver as their primary commander to draw into their tutors for whatever pieces they need to complete the graveyard combos.

@ Kaleo42 I used to run Caustic Caterpillar , but it eventually moved to the point where it was too slow, I rather have interaction and removal on hand, it was good as a rattlesnake but its more of a flex nowadays. I am not bothered by Leyline of the Void or RIP as my lines are winning on the spot when no one can interact with me, I would remove the hate before I proceed to combo off.

For Leave No Trace (LNT) this is more of a meta call as I am up against Blood Pod-esque decks as well as more stax oriented pods. LNT hits a plethora of things and even gets around protected BS and one card can hit a wide variety. I only run essentially two enchantments that matter, which is Sylvan Library as well as Necropotence , both of them are colors I could care less if I pop them myself.

In regards to commnader choices, there is actually a viable reason why I chose Teneb, it's due to the CMC. At 6 CMC I can pod chain him to Protean Hulk and win on the spot, same can be said with utilizing Pattern of Rebirth / Natural Order . I used to run Eldritch Evolution as another line. But Teneb is like plan F for me, in addition he is also a 6/6 beater that flys. There is also sneaky combat tricks you can do with him as in response to his trigger you can Entomb and than reanimate a creature and than sac with an outlet and go for an instant speed win.

The last reason why is because I personally like seeing commanders that aren't used as much and I love refining them to their max potential, this is the closest I have came to perfecting and refining a deck. Teneb has been a great match up against top tier cEDH commanders and haven't really disappointed me at all. I enjoy all the games I played with Teneb, hopefully that gives some insight on my perspective! If ya like the deck please leave an +1 upvote as well!

@ PlatinumOne Lol Teneb rarely comes out in my pod, if they see me casting him they know that either A) I'm getting shafted or B) It's plan F time. Main reason is that he is the second deck I build and feels so refined to play.

Back to Nature seems mediocre unless you have an enchantment-heavy meta. You have plenty of powerful enchantments of your own, so more repeatable/recurrable enchantment removal akin to the Caterpillar seems worthwhile. Not really sure what else to suggest, as the deck looks great!

ThoAlmighty

Thanks for commenting! I been running into a lot of enchantment/artifact heavy meta. My meta is anti-graveyard so it's a testament to the fact of why I built the deck to be so resilient towards it.

I actually added in Fracturing Gust just due to the amount of artifact/enchantments there are in my meta. Also hitting my own enchantments or artifacts doesn't matter imo. All my reanimation spells are meant to win the turn I cast them or if it is my card advantage engines, than I am always ripping the top three from Sylvan or Necro I can in response activate it before I pop it, so it is negligible.

I'll post an update of my deck as I did change it again to suit towards my meta again.

Hello, have you considered running Cruel Celebrant as a third copy of Blood Artist effect?

Also I'm very inspired by your work and currently I'm building Edgar Markov Ad Nauseam Aristocrats deck - do you think that Mardu has enough tools to make it work with lower curve? (Since there's no dork ramp there) Also isn't tribal aspect of such a deck getting in way of combo build or 1 CMC vamps generating 2 bodies to sac seem to be reasonable inclusion?

Hey Vlasiax, thank you for your comment! I have thought of running Cruel Celebrant before, but at the moment I don't have enough slots open enough for it to test and at my current meta it's not needed. If I run into more Sadistic Sacrament , Praetor's Grasp , Extract type of cards in my meta than I will consider running it in.

Edgar Aristocrats is fun, you can definitely be running some synergy, tbh it will be an interesting build for sure, but I am unsure exactly how many playable vampires there will be. Is there a reason you want to play Edgar aristocrats instead of lets say Alesha, Who Smiles at Death ?

Vlasiax says... #24

Main idea is to run Vampire Tribal Aggro as a plan B because I see that key payoff cards for Aristocrats are actually vampires. With Eminence I take advantage of additional bodies be it to aggro overrun or sacrifice payoffs. In a build like this I actually want to cast 1-2 CMC creatures and 2-3 CMC lords to make them threats themselves so there's no need to look for powerful effects, however there are still some like Malakir Bloodwitch or Sanctum Seeker but I keep only the best of them because of Ad Nauseam .

And that's how I found your deck on my way to better understand this archetype and what proportions of food/sac outlets/payoffs are.

For combos e.g. Oathsworn Vampire + Phyrexian Altar goes infinite so one of Blood Artist effects gets me win.
