Tayam Self-Mill

Self-Mill:

Tayam, Luminous Enigma has such a great ability for low cmc graveyard shenanigans. To best exploit this ability, this deck only has permanents that are 3 cmc or less. This design allows you to get great card value through the graveyard. Cards like Death's Oasis , Altar of Dementia , and Skull Prophet , all help fill up the graveyard further to provide more permanents to play. I also included Perpetual Timepiece to prevent you from decking yourself (since this deck doesn't win through decking, just uses the mill feature for value).

Proliferate:

What's better than one vigilance counter on a creature? Two? Eh...not really (since double vigilance does nothing), but having additional counters does set up Tayam's ability. For this reason, this deck has a proliferate sub theme to help fuel the Mill/Recursion engine. Cards like Sword of Truth and Justice , Throne of Geth , Evolution Sage , and Huatli's Raptor all aid in Proliferation. There's also plenty of cards focused on +1/+1 Counters, like Nissa, Voice of Zendikar , Abzan Ascendancy , Embodiment of Agonies , Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit , and Pelt Collector .

Graveyard Shenanigans:

Since this deck focuses a lot on Recursion, there's a bunch of creatures with abusable ETBs/Sac Triggers. Cards like Attrition and Aura Shards can be abused with recurrable creatures. Cards like Recruiter of the Guard , Sakura-Tribe Elder , and Spore Frog have abilities that can be used over and over again if recurred.

Lastly, this decks main win-con involves using proliferation with poison counters from Triumph of the Hordes or Ichor Rats (can also be abused through recursion).
