Seeing Commander 2020 and Ikoria gave me an idea. What would a theoretical Tarkir-themed set of commander decks look like? I've spent a few days working on some custom cards and I'm just now putting together what a realistic commander pre-con would look like if it were to release with a Tarkir set.

The first one is Sultai. The main theme is self-mill/delve, though I included a third commander with a subtheme of exploit (as commander pre-cons seem to do, they include a third commander that's tangentially related to the deck and include a few cards to go along with it). I tried to be fair with reprints, going a little above what current commander precons would put in a deck. As the price of these decks have gone up, I felt it fair to include some more well-sought after cards, including a better land base.

The three custom commanders are:

Anathema, a Naga Wizard and the "main commander" of the deck. She uses Delve to keep her cost low, while giving a payoff for exiling more and more cards to cast her.

Khudal, a Rakshasa Vizier of the Sultai clan. He works as a parallel to Bone Miser, instead granting benefits from exiling cards from your own graveyard. He works wonderfully with delve, though I can see a Flashback theme being used for him.

And finally, Shal-ra. I wanted to make one commander for each set in the Tarkir block, so the third would be based on the broods and not the clans. Shal-Ra has exploit and gives a way to further punish your opponents when you sacrifice creatures (whether through exploit or other methods, I didn't want it to feel too pigeon-holed).

I have also included three more custom/original cards. Two to help with the exploit subtheme (as there aren't many good exploit cards or exploit payoff cards), and one for the Delve package. These cards are:

Silumgar's Approach, an exploit/sacrifice payoff value engine. I made sure to specify nontoken creatures to prevent it from going infinite with a free sac outlet.

And Dark Ritualist, a quite simple card. He's essentially Dark Ritual on a body.

Arcane Snatch is Dissipate with Delve. Nothing too crazy, though I feel like if this deck were to see print, this card would probably be used in eternal formats.

Any and all input is appreciated, whether it be about the custom cards, the deck, or even the idea itself. This is something I've never really done before, so +1s and comments are welcome!
