This deck is something that I thought of when playing at a sealed deck event, It's pretty rough but I'd appreciate any help given.I was thinking a bit more control (Murders/Unsummons etc.) and maybe Think twice to maybe draw into Talrand or to trigger his ability.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
I've been having some decent luck with this deck - going 3-1 a lot (and placing at 9th, just out of top 8 D:)
A problem that I have sometimes is when decks sideboard anti-enchantment - especially ray of revelation, damn that card! - they have the tendency to really screw up my play since most of them are instant speed. So Im going to try to diversify my anthems (2x Drogskol Captain , 2x Sorin, Lord of Innistrad) in order to add longevity and make my deck more versatile.
I've made a lot of changes recently, so I'm going to have to tweak the mana base a bit. I'd still like to fit in Vault of the Archangel as a one of somewhere for mid-late game shenanigans but it's a bit difficult.
I'd like to thank everyone for their input and I wouldn't mind if it kept coming!
I brought this to FNM yesterday and I did quite well, going 4-0-1.
Each round i went 2-1 with every first game screwing me with tons of land, it was weird.I went against:
Round 1 - G-W Humans, I out weenied him
Round 2- Grixis Control, I mana leaked all his big planeswalkers
Round 3 - Grixis..Aggro? Not sure, I was running a build of this deck with 2 Sorin, Lords of Innistrad and I used his ultimate to steal some titans and win.
Round 4- ??? We agreed to a draw.
Round 5 - Naya pod, Thalia crippled me early game but I got multiple anthems and lingering souls + Talrand brought the pain.
This is still in it's Beta stages and I could use any help I can get, Thanks!
i'm sure you've considered it an weighed the options but what about Delver of Secrets Flip ?
No Oblivion Ring even in the side? any reason for this? or just no reason because the other cards already provide answers to the decks?
This deck is in constant flux, at one point i had 4x Oblivion Ring . 90% of the time my deck covers all threats and o-ring kind of slows me down, I will most likely be adding two to the sideboard however.
I'm almost inclined to say add Favorable Winds . For the simple fact that having both that and Virtue in play has Talrand making Serra Angel s.
You should also consider cutting Forbidden Alchemy , the main deck Negate and at least one Dismember to go up to four Ponder and four Vapor Snag , you'll be better off playing a tempo game.
I used to play Vapor Snag but i switched to Forbidden Alchemy for card advantage, because I had late game problems where i was top decking garbage. Forbidden Alchemy allowed me to filter the crap (and maybe early game through out a lingering souls :D) and has proven very useful. I have considered putting vapor snag back in, however.
I'll try fiddling with my deck some more.

Talrand, Meet Lingering Souls

Negate is only a one-of in this list? Has that seemed to be working well for you? I don't do a ton of standard but in a control deck wouldn't Negate be at Lear a two-of? I'm not certain, just curious
