I've recently considered making a deck very similar to this one myself. I want to use Djinn Illuminatus with Lightning Bolt , Brainstorm , or other 1 drop goodies to really lay down the hurt or even win outright. Docent of Perfection  ^Flip is like a backup talrand. Mystic Speculation and Arcane Melee are great too. Izzet has a lot of great options for this stuff, haha

I was nervous about including Arcane Melee because it might slow down my experience counters and help my opponents more than I. If my deck has enough (X)-casting-cost spells, which it is shaping up to, it would essentially always boost the spells by 2. I own the card so it is certainly being considered. Mystic Speculation is awesome! It's over a dollar so it might not go into build 1.0 but it's still not that expensive. Thanks as always K34!!

Hey Optimator. Why do you not have Young Pyromancer in your maybe board? I know you are trying to keep your creature count low, but especially since you have Pyromancer's Goggles it seems like a good include for both flavor and his utility. I'm actually trying to make a similar deck, and struggling between using Melek or Mizzix as my commander. I have a pile of cards sitting in a box, waiting for me to make up my mind.

Yeah, Young Pyromancer is just too good. I mean, I have Talrand, Sky Summoner in for the same reason
