Jund has always been my favorite deck type, but has recently fallen in popularity after the banning of Deathrite Shaman and Bloodbraid Elf. Well, recently Jund has hit a spike in play, almost 8% of the meta! Well, this is my list, which is widely inspired by Charlie Heverans list from MMSC at Born of the Gods.

Just some music to help pass the time.

So, I feel like I now should explain the choices:

  • Abrupt Decay: This card is AMAZING. It kills most cards, ranging from Tarmogoyf to Delver of Secrets   to Liliana of the Veil.

  • Courser of Kruphix: This guy took the place of Dark Confidant back when delver was big, but now I simply use it for the factor that I don't own any DC's. It's pretty good for its cost in relation to it's power level: for a 2/4 that can usually sift out a land card every turn for +1 life.

  • Inquisition of Kozilek/Thoughtseize: Discard. both are good for different things.

  • Lightning Bolt: Three damage for one mana trumps nearly all other removal ever printed on a cost to affect ratio. Sweet card for sure.

  • Liliana of the Veil: Mainly in here for the +1 and/or -2, but If you CAN manage the -6, you might as well win.

  • Maelstrom Pulse: Great removal spell, and our only enchantment removal. The only reason for there only being two is because it's a sorcery and that it kills your stuff, too. For example, you have a Tarmogoyf and so does your opponent. If you cast your Maelstrom Pulse on your opponents goyf, yours will die, too.

  • Olivia Voldaren: Best to play when you have 6 mana open, so you can respond to their Lightning Bolt. Overall, it's a good card, and gets increasing value in the late game.

  • Scavenging Ooze: Great against aggro due to it's lifegain ability and sheer size. It's also nifty against flashback and reanimation spells.

  • Tarmogoyf: Can often be a 2 mana 3/4 on turn 2. Can get REALLY big out of nowhere. Just keep in mind of this guy when triggering your Scavenging Oozes.

  • Tasigur, the Golden Fang: Will mostly be played for . Just valuable as a creature for it's sheer size to cost ratio. Think of it as another Goyf.

  • Terminate: Just for killing stuff. The anti-regeneration isn't usually too relevant, but has been effective against Experiment One in Zoo and Golgari Charm for certain midrange decks.

Hope This has been helpful for future reference and assistance on my deck. Thank you for your time and recommendations!
