Tajic Marches Forward

Commander / EDH

Flamegod45

Maybeboard

This deck is an amalgamation of different strategies typically found in Tajic decks that I had the cards for. Overall its an aggro deck that hopes to swing ftw, either by loads of creatures/tokens, or Tajic being buffed by other cards.

There is a soldier theme with tokens. Ideally Assemble the Legion gets abused by triggering some etb triggers(Goldnight Commander, Mentor of the Meek, Court Street Denizen), and the tokens get powered up by Veteran Swordsmith, Captain of the Watch, Angel of Jubilation, Intangible Virtue, and by Door of Destinies. Crusader of Odric + Hanweir Militia Captain both like the extra creatures on the board, and Tajic and Legion Loyalist have triggers when attacking with alot of creatures. Lastly Foundry Champion can kill a player if enough tokens are created.

The pump for the tokens (except intangible virtue) also effects Tajic, so with those on the board, and a few creatures to attack with, it is possible to rogue's passage him to the opponent's face for lethal commander.

Odric, Lunarch Marshal allows me to make all my creatures (including those tokens) have essentially every keyword I have on the board. Tajic being the commander allows for easy access to indestructable. Darksteel Plate + Mask of Avacyn equipped onto Odric makes him hard to get rid of, and in combat makes my army just as hard. Vigilance, Haste, Trample, Flying, First Strike, Double Strike are all possible as well, with multiple sources (except for trample Sword of Vengeance, and double strike Silverblade Paladin only have one source), its only unfortunate he can't pass on unblockable too :P.

Felidar Guardian and Restoration Angel are an infinite combo that doesn't even need to be used, but since it can help retrigger some etb or save a creature or two they were put in. Alone they do nothing but flicker eachother, but as soon as a third card is added, anything is possible:

-Panharmonicon is the strongest of the cards. It allows for a second trigger of Felidar to target a land which you can tap in response to get infinite mana (also if I add an etb land it could do an infinite pump) to be used on Fireball or Bonfire of the Damned on one target. The mana can also be used on Foundry Champion and Sunhome Guildmage to do pump or pump/infinite creature gen respectively. Mentor of the Meek with the mana and Felidar can allow me to draw as many cards as I like, allowing me to "search" for Fireball. I can also use the extra flickers to target either Elspeth or Captain of the Watch to create infinite tokens. Targeting a Solemn Simulacrum allows us to get all basic lands out of our deck should we desire.

-Seraph Sanctuary gives us infinite life which can help stall out the game a little until I can get other cards to help win the game, making it so I only have to worry about infect, commander damage, mill, and other infinite combos, Aetherflux Reservoir could be added to have an outlet for this life as a wincon.

-Warstorm Surge or Impact Tremors straight up kills.

-Ninth Bridge Patrol becomes an infinite/infinite creature.

-Goldnight Commander makes all my creatures infinite/infinite except for felidar/resto.

-Blade of Selves in a 3+ player game allows us to restart the infinite flickers while in the combat phase, so infinite mana is useless outside of Mentor of the Meek/Foundry/Sunhome, but adds a way to go infinite after something fails, or if the wincon pieces weren't out at the time/ were removed when the loop was initiated.

-Court Street Denizen allows me to tap down all opposing creatures, giving a free swing in, hopefully for the win (REMOVED)

The landbase is probably a little bit off... I used the 2016 Kalemne deck as the scaffolding for building.
Opal Palace was put in and then I realised that for the most part, my commander isn't going to be going to the command zone too often. Not much draw capability, Ghirapur Orrey and/or Otherworld Atlas could be added to help accelerate the deck at the cost of being group hug cards that can help accelerate opponents as well. I'm really tempted to switch Seer's Sundial for the orrey though because I do find I'm mana-starved and empty handed fairly often and I can't trigger sundial enough if I'm not drawing lands. Hanweir Garrison could find a home in this deck as well, although only Court Street Denizen is the only thing I can think of replacing with it, it would allow for more non-soldier tokengen and a possible beast of a creature at the cost of utility and a land when it transforms.

Possibility Storm was added mainly because the local meta has a lot of control decks and infinite combo decks, both of which can theoretically get thrown out of rhythm by this and doesn't hinder this deck much and in some cases can accelerate the small fry into larger creatures or get mana-rocks into equipment and vice versa so kinda like a pseudo search. It also is just plain chaos-y fun, especially if someone only runs a singular of a type of card since it prevents them from playing it without it getting put at the bottom of their library.
